great wall. great wall has went up on their prices several times since they have been open! i used to go there when they first opened and it was nice, but lately there food has been smaller and smaller portions! meats(beef) uncooked, my food was burnt and they gave me my origional food shrimp back and tossed some new rice in which was still burnt! very unfortunate!
Bad Food, Bad Service, Really Bad Attitude.
My husband and I ordered from The Great Wall on Sunday, February 14 for dinner. I called the number listed at this website. When the phone was answered I was told that I was calling the fax line, and the main line was busy, and was told to call back on their main line, but I would have to wait.
It took about 15 minutes to get my order in and I was told it would be 25 -30 minute wait. We gave them the requested time to make the order, and drove to the restaurant. I left my husband and son in the car while I went in. The order wasn’t ready, so I let my family know and stood to wait for my food. While I was there I noticed another family waiting for their takeout order and two other people come in to get their orders. There were no dine in customers in the restaurant, but there were at least 5 tables that needed to be bussed. No one was up at the register or cleaning, everyone was in the back talking .
When we finally received our order and got it home, (we live about 5 minutes from the restaurant ). We found the food to be of poor quality (Unspicy Kung Pao Chicken, with very little chicken and dry hardened rice). We’ve eaten here before and the food has ranged from good to fair, so we decided to call to let them know, and instead of accepting criticism, my husband was threatened with what we consider “ bodily injury”.
The next day, my husband called the restaurant to let them know about our experience, the first person tried to give him the “runaround” about the manager/owner not being there, and that they were busy last night so the food quality had a “reason” to be bad. When my husband refused all of the excuses they were giving, she put the phone down and started to tell someone in the background about what my husband was saying. A man identifying himself as the owner, picked up the phone and asked about what was going on. My husband first asked about him dodging the call, then reiterated our disappointment about the food. The owner kept making excuses about the food and service telling him that he should expect the food to be like that. He offered to give only one free dinner tonight only and nothing for the second of two meals we purchased. When my husband persisted in asking for a refund on the second meal, the owner threatened to “Kick the s**t out of him” and more than one time. We were disappointed by the lack of concern for quality.
After this experience, I cannot recommend The Great Wall in Leander, TX
