BEST HOT DOGS IN AUSTIN!!!. This is my home away from home. Fabulous hot dogs. I don't normally like corn dogs, but theirs are INCREDIBLE!!! You can tell just by looking at them they are hand-dipped and real cornbread, not some weird synthetic-like cornbread.

Great french fries, awesome atmosphere (very Austin), really cool employees and just a perfect Austin restaurant. Never know what kind of music will be playing, but it's always interesting.

I have eaten many hot dogs around town and these are hands down the best. I think it's a combination of them being grilled instead of boiled or put on one of those hot dog roller thingies. Also, they butter the hot dog buns before toasting and butter makes everything better.

My husband raves about the chili. Says you could eat it on its own.

AND, if you have vegetarian friends, this is the place to go! Plenty of food options for them!

Yech!. I ate at this dump on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2009. I love hot dogs, especially chili dogs and I have many, many dives in my pantheon of food establishments.

The place was just nasty. The floor was filthy, the tables were covered in food boogers, and I had to bus the previous patrons' glasses and baskets from 1 of 5 identically filthy tables in order to just sit down. Despite all this, I thought about all the rave reviews from other sites and knew that I would wonder until I had sampled the food...you know, just to get it over with.

I ordered the Classic. I'll give it this: the bun was nicely toasted. The weiner was too salty. The chili was greasy. The staff looked like it needed a bath. They also had one of my pet peeves, a tip jar at the order counter. Tips? For what? I had to stand to give my order, pick up my own food and bus my table. What's the tip for? Is that insurance so you won't spit in my food?

A tip jar is just plain rude. If you do a GREAT job, hook me up and take care of my family, I'll bump you a few bucks...otherwise, you are just begging! The only difference between you and the bum on the corner is that you are inside. Have some self-respect. SHOW SOME CLASS!

Do yourself a favor: Pass on this dump!

Don't waste your money here. My wife and I have been here a few times, always hoping that it will be better than the time before. The vegetarian dogs and chili are pretty decent, but the people that work here are as pathetic as they come. Every time we go there, I'm astonished at how they've managed create such a depressing atmosphere with their sour attitudes. We've decided to not waste our money at this place anymore. Plus, it's a bit over-priced for what you get. Sorry Dog Almighty, we'll be making our dogs at home.

i tried the vegetarian chili dog!. I was excited to eat here. I love the chili dog, but its all about the cheese and flavor! I was intrigued by the vegetarian bun and dog, and my taste expectations were easily met. It was a tasty pile of vegetarian goodness with cheese on top, nothing fancy, but good just the same. The only thing is, the buns and hotdogs (vegetarian and regular) are average size, verging on small, one's not quite enough, but 2 may be too many. If I go back, I will maybe order two...possibly maybe.
