Wrongly Repaired Engagement Ring.
My poor review of this location comes from my most recent experience in November 2011 with trying to have my engagement ring repaired. I originally had a pearl but when it fell off after only 1 1/2 years, my husband and I decided to replace it with my birthstone (aquamarine). This was the same location we bought our wedding bands from which is the only reason I went here. Big mistake!
1) The Assistant Manager (who was named in another poor review of this store) told me it would take 3 - 5 days to repair and only cost $150 for the stone and repair. I chose a princess cut stone based on one of their rings. The asst. manager promised to call within 3 days to confirm the price and turnaround. 5 days later, I had to call the store and was then told it would actually cost $400. I asked them to have the ring returned to the store so I could get other estimates.
2) My husband and I went into the store on the weekend and the assistant manager had not gotten our ring back from the jeweler and then told us they could do it for $325. At that point, based on convenience and a slightly better price, we decided to have the store order the stone and repair the ring. The asst manager promised to call first thing Monday and provide me a turnaround time on completion.
3) Since he never called me, I followed up on Tuesday and a different employee had to call the jeweler to get the completion time. The asst manager hadn't even called the jeweler to tell them to order the stone so that pushed our turnaround to late the following week. Even without the indecision on my end, it took them a total of 2 1/2 weeks to complete my repair rather than the originally estimated 3 -5 days.
4) Here is the final and worst part. When I picked up my ring last night , I was so irritated with the experience I barely looked at it. Once I got home I realized the jeweler had not only put in the completely wrong cut (rectangle rather than square) but the ring now didn't fit against my wedding band because of the error. Earlier, I had even specifically asked the asst manager if I needed to leave my wedding band to insure it would fit properly and he insisted it would be no problem. When I checked my original store receipt, I saw that the asst manager never even noted the cut or size I wanted.
I am now taking my ring to the Barton Creek location and am hoping they can fix it and make it work with my wedding band, which I specifically bought to match my engagement ring. Honestly though, unless the Barton Creek location is beyond superb and amazing, I never intend to use or step into this store again. I also tried to contact the Domain manager for the past week to share some of my feedback on the assistant manager's lack of customer service and have never received any response.
Sincerely,
Very Disappointed Customer
