This place makes me feel good
by rockshavefeelingstoo at Citysearch
The Lakehouse has become my go to place. The food has been consistenty good, its right on the lake with a nice view, and has large outside deck seating under big oak trees. The staff is always friendly and takes good care of me. My favorite dishes are the Southwest Eggs Benedict, and Papas Fritas for Brunch, and the Coyote Chicken for dinner. You can tell that this place is working to create something different, and so far has delivered. The Lakehouse is a great "Oasis" in this area, surrounded only by other restaurants that are either sub par, or geared towards the drinking crowd who like simple foods.
Pairs well with a day at Pace Bend Park right up the road, or renting a boat for the day at the Marina next to the Cafe.
- Pros: Food, Staff, and View
The Lakehouse Café is a rare gem!
by ZenMama at Citysearch
The Lakehouse Café is an AWESOME place to take your family! It’s one of those rare places where you can go to experience something more than just an ordinary meal… it offers an environment that can rejuvenate your spirit after a long week. You can tell that the owners/managers pour their hearts and souls into this place, and you can feel it in the energy in the atmosphere and the food.
If you’re looking for a special place to eat out by the lake that serves something different than a cheap, greasy burger (not that there’s anything wrong with that!), and if you’re one of those people that appreciate fresh and healthy food and a unique menu, then try out this place. All of their breads and desserts are their own recipes and are freshly baked, need I say more? The sizzling mushrooms appetizer, one of the house-made flat bread pizzas, and the burgers served on fresh, house-made, amazingly good buns, are a few of our favorites. Not to mention that anything and everything on the Brunch Menu is OUTSTANDING, although our favorites are the Pappas Frittas and the Southwest Eggs Benedict, and the Texas-Sized Cinnamon Rolls are seriously the size of our 2-year-old daughter’s head and they are PHENOMENAL! And I strongly recommend that you get dessert, if you’re full take it to-go home, because they are truly something special. The homemade pies, carrot cake, fudge cake, ice cream sandwiches, and anything else that pops up on the Blackboard Specials are all EXTRAORDINARY! I believe they are handcrafted by magicians!
Combine all of this with the BEAUTIFUL views of Lake Travis under a peaceful and shady canopy of oak trees, friendly and relaxed staff, and AMAZING live music during the summer and you have a great place to unwind on the weekend.
- Pros: Beautiful view, fresh, house-baked breads & desserts....
- Cons: None
Can't afford to waste any more money
by SpacialK at Citysearch
I can't afford to eat here.
Maybe that's what they want.
They want to keep me away.
The last couple times we did go there,
the food was terrible and no one cared.
I told them, but they shrugged it off.
I don't usually make a fuss.
I just don't go back.
So, I haven't, & I won't.
Sorry. But then again, not really...
- Pros: It's convenient to where I live
- Cons: I've wasted too much money trying this place out over & over
over priced
