Great Atmosphere. After reading the reviews, I didn't know what to expect. My husband and I went for dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised when there was a jazz band playing. It was such a great evening...great music and great food. I had the chicken pie, which was very tasty, I would definitely recommend it. And my husband ordered a pizza. It's european style pizza, which you can't find many places in austin. What a great experience. Also, I really like the interior of the restaurant, the windows & bar are impressive. The service was great as well. I like that our waitress didn't check on us every 5 minutes, it's nice just to sit back and enjoy. Annies is conveniently located downtown, you can have a nice walk after lunch or dinner.…
Are You Kidding Me?. Can't believe this place actually got the awards they received last year. Who did the idiot owners payoff to get these ratings? The waitstaff and cooking crew did their best considering the exceptional poor management and owners, who have no concept of how to run a restaurant. It was obvious to me the staff were not happy with their work or work environment. Food is mediocre for the money. Please don't waste your money here until this place gets new owners who know how to treat their staff and patrons with respect.…
Great Food, Wine and Fun.
I hosted a networking happy hour at Annie's and was very impressed with the service, food and drinks. i have been hosting group networking happy hours for 2 years and this was the best place yet.
They dedicated staff to our group and brought the apps out as soon as people starting arriving. They were delicious! Everyone loved the decor and friendly atmosphere.
Annie's has a great bar for happy hour and a good wine selection with friendly, helpful staff. Ill be back soon!…
Excited going, disappointed leaving. My friend and I were really looking forward to dining here. We got noticed at the hostess stand and were left standing there. It took twenty minutes to get our first glass of wine. A table sat down a half hour after us, got our food (the exact same order) before us. Then our food was delivered to a couple at the bar. We saw the man eat off the plate, then the mistake was realized, the plates were picked up from the those customers and delivered to us! Unbelievable! It took half an hour to get new food. The server was embarassed and not once did the manager come over. We got free dessert, big deal. Food was good, but I won't be going back.…
Old-school Austin cafe settles into a gorgeous loft..
Sand-blasted brick, warm dark chocolate-stained cement floors and massive front windows only start to define the huge new space occupied by this beloved Austin caterer and cafe. Breakfast or lunch
can be a
high-quality value, not inexpensive but mostly organic and very locally produced produce; farm-to-table is a way of life here. Dinner and late night-dining can be a little more expensive, with entrees topping at $28. The curved zinc bar is an elegant equalizer; imagine being
elbow-to-elbow with pals, chowing down on gruyere omelets or dark chocolate caramel sea salt-topped tarts.…
