One of the few sports bars along S. Lamar with good food and a great beer selection. Drink specials every day.

It Sucks. We went to Black Sheep to watch the Barcelona vs Real Madrid soccer game on 04/16/11, one of the most highly anticipated and viewed soccer matches to date (over 100 million viewers worldwide). When I asked management if they would turn the sound on the manager flat out refused saying there were not enough people interested or watching the game. We went to the back room and joined a group of about 20 Barcelona fans that were watching the game on a big screen to annoying pop music. Although this group, easily comprising over half the bar's clientele was paying to eat, drink and watch the game, management still refused to put the sound on, saying they preferred to have music. Next, the bar owner named "Keith" came and confronted me and my girlfriend for being "rude" to his staff for asking them to put the sound on. When I told him how ridiculous it was that his paying clientele can not listen to the game they came to see while paying for food and drink, the discussion became heated and he kicked my girlfriend and I out of the bar. Customer service? You be the judge. For us personally this was an awful experience and we will not patron this bar any more. Enjoy your next sporting event but not at Black Sheep!

I didn't realize this is a gay bar. The three garlic-laden slider burgers ("Little Stinkers") were delicious. However, as a straight male, I think this place should be honest, and advertise itself as a gay bar. Nothing against gays or gay bars, but when a guy ducks in out of the rain for a bite to eat, it's disconcerting to discover that it's a gay bar.

My friends and I love this place!. Many of my friends and I have this as a destination for both food and for drinks.

Everyone talks about their burger but I always end up getting the Little Stinkers. They are so juicy and flavorful. My buddies like the burgers. The fries are good too but sometimes the seasoning can vary. I have had the Green Chile Queso and it is also good.

Mainly we show up for the beer. Lots of taps and lots of weekly specials. White Trash Cans for $1 on Wednesday is always nice.

The servers are always nice and give you just the right amount of space. We are always well taken care of.

I am not a regular but I really like this place.

Fresh burgers earn lccal love at this casual beer joint.. This casual spot--part sports bar, part neighborhood hang--adds a touch of the familiar to the scene on South Lamar. Paying close attention to fresh comfort foods, the restaurant boasts such signatures as The Black Buffalo burger, which made Texas Monthly's list of the 50 best burgers around (it was No. 27). Everything is house-made, from the creamy ranch dressing to the tater tots to the crisp sweet potato fries. The patio is covetable lounge space; inside feels slightly smaller, maybe because the games takes up a good fifth of the room.
