Must go. Food was delicious and well-prepared, atmosphere was upscale but low-key, and the waitstaff was extremely welcoming. Highly recommended! Best sushi I've had in Austin in a long time.
One of the best in Austin for sushi. WOW, what an awesome place. I thought that I had been to all of the best sushi places in Austin, but this place is tied with the #1 spot. Piranha Killer Sushi or PKS - as I like to call it - has expertly prepared sushi at a pricetag that won't empty your wallet. The Spider Roll is my all time favorite, you can't go wrong with this bad boy! I can't wait to try their reverse Happy Hour. Definitely put Piranha on your places to try.
yep. This is what I'm talking about! The rolls were excellent and of course you need sake to wash it down so who am I to say no? I was impressed with the selection of specialty drinks at the bar and the happy hour did not hurt, but even without that I will be eating here again.
specialty sushi.
Asian fusion? eh
Specialty sushi rolls can be hit or miss but I don'r know how anyone cannot love the marry me roll at Piranha. The specialty rolls have made a believer out of me. (granted I was there for happy hour so I was prone to happiness, lol) The happy hour and roll selection make it a good choice for after work or a night out
Best.
My entire family is very big into sushi, and Piranha is by far our favorite place in Austin! The sushi ingredients are always so fresh, and the signature rolls are simply amazing! (Marry me, Marry Me roll!)
Our only complaint is that sometimes the service is slow - you may wait a long time to get your check, to get drink orders, etc. on the weekends but other than that, you can't go wrong!
Sushi for everyone.
Piranha is a fantastic choice for sushi or a night out. The atmosphere is fun, the service good, and the food great!
They have a good menu and an even better happy hour which I recommend highly.
Sushi Fanatic!!!.
The sushi at Piranha was perfect perfect perfect!
I really love the presentation and atmosphere so Piranha Killer Sushi, I am there!
Excellent happy hour. I have eaten at Piranha a few times, but never knew they had such an awesome happy hour. The sushi is terrific, but the drinks are also phenomenal. I recommend for anyone looking for a fun dinner or happy hour downtown.
Not Worth the Money. The food was mediocre. We ordered three different rolls and a bunch of individual sushi and there was nothing that we ate that made me think I would absolutely have to go back and have it again. The service was terrible. We waited about 25 minutes even though there were open spaces at the sushi bar the whole time the hostess said she was going to sit other people at. Our waiter took forever to come around and take our order and forever longer to bring the food. The food was expensive, as is typical with sushi, but there was nothing about the experience that made me think the food or service was worth the price. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good enough to go back.
Clever sushi chain corners the foodie lifestyle market.. Perhaps piggy-backing off the successful Max's Wine Dive, this sushi joint marries nightlife with food and drink. With a pair of bars that share the same space--one for cocktails, one for sushi--allow a crowd to set the tone. Extended hours indicate they're willing to cater to the party-seeking set, as does the massive martini list and lovely display of wine bottles. The space is pure warehouse district--open, airy, with high ceilings--and modern as a contemporary skyscraper. Signature house rolls are mostly cooked and sometimes goofy. The Wasabi-Crusted Salmon Roll is very popular in the Fort Worth and Arlington locations, crunchy with panko and fiery with wasabi. The Marry Me Roll has shrimp tempura and ginger cream topped with avocado, tuna, and strawberries. The non-sushi menu is huge, with a slew of appetizers from yakitori to dumplings to crab cakes to ceviche, and many cooked (and some very beefy) entrees.
