Yum! Dim Sum!!!. I admit it! We're addicted. We went to Dim Sum at Fortune about 6 weeks back, based on the excellent review in Texas Monthly. We've been back every Sunday since. It's become a tradition. First...we were depressed for months when Tien Hong closed their doors. Fortune has made us happy again. Excellent food. But more importantly, the servers are genuinely friendly. Yep! Friendly. It makes the whole experience that much better. Everything is good. But you MUST TRY the Fried Calamari! It is the best anywhere. Honest!

Chinese seafooder lures with dim sum and a full bar.. While this particular North Austin shopping center is home to a massive market and several Chinese and Korean restaurants, most with lovely architecture, this one has an edge. First in its size (9,000 square feet), it's devotion to dim sum (served daily and a major draw on weekends), and obsessive detail to everything seafood. The clean, bright food is appealing in entrees, or in tasty, bite-sized form during dim sum: deep-fried shrimp dumplings are panko-coated and crisp; salty fried squid, light and tangy. Red silk booths and a wall of teapots, from rustic to delicate, are lovely eye candy, but you're more likely to be distracted by the ballet of dim sum servers, carts and hungry folk's gestures to get noticed in the crowd.
