It's a teeny-weeny bit chainy, but Zoe's does affectively shame one into eating healthier: There are calories counts listed next to their food items. Think naked grilled chicken, veggie kabobs, hummus -- i.e., diet food with a sexy Mediterranean spin.
Great Tasty Healthy food!. A friend recently suggested Zoe's Kitchen to my fiancee and I and we are hooked. He loves the fresh shrimp ka-bob and the spinach roll-ups. I am obsessed with the veggie pita pizza. Their hummus is made fresh on site and is very tasty. Both times we were in the restaurant we were greeted by the owners (Abraham and Hassoum- brothers) and they made sure we were satisfied with our food. I strongly recommend the home-made oatmeal raisen cookie to top off the meal.
Citysearch Editorial Review. In a taco town like Austin, opening a simple sandwich shop means a lovable hook is required. The homey favorite chicken salad (a family recipe) is the anchor menu item here. Whether stuffed into pitas, wraps or other lunch-y bites, filling spread on a sandwich vehicle is what diners come for. The Mediterranian-inspired menu means flavorful, light fare like lemon juice and feta cheese instead of goopy mayo spreads, plus grilled shrimp, not fried. The bright orange dining room is stimulating, making this a good spot for a casual business lunch or to grab a bite with the kids before soccer practice.
