Austin >La Casa del Fuego
BEST TACOS DOWNTOWN. Absolutely love this place, the atmosphere is great, the people are great, the whole experience is just great. Food is very good and the green sauce is what one should get!! that sauce completes the tacos. i'm a little upset at the previous comment on this restaurant. first of all none of the prices on the menu could account for a charge of 43 cents or 74 cents. all the costs should end in 00, 25, 50, and/or 75 cents. so this post is complete BS. secondly, the prior post is copied and pasted on other sites, so do NOT listen to it. this place is awesome, i go there almost every night.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
***AVOID AVOID AVOID***
I hardly ever give a 1 star rating unless there is a good reason...
This place is conveniently located and opened late hours (on the weekends) when you're looking for a quick bite after a long night of going out... Food is decent and there is usually a long line.
This past Friday a group of us were visiting Austin and after a night out we decided to stop by for a quick bite. After patiently waiting in line for 10 minutes, I placed a to-go order for 12 tacos, 8 beef fajita tacos with cheese and 4 been and cheese the guy (wearing glasses) at the window added up the tab and said it came to $124.43.
I asked him how many tacos do you have me down for? He said 12. I then asked him "$124 for 12 tacos?!?" He paused and looked down at the counter and then his next response was "it comes to $90.74."
Not kewl... Grant it that most of their customers are drunk by the end of the night but there is absolutely no need for this kind of behavior. Especially from a great and friendly city like Austin.
