Low-lit and spacious, with a large wooden deck and a slight Brat Pack vibe, Clive Bar is one of the calmer Rainey St. offerings -- a welcome respite after your ears have been blown out from Lustre Pearl's assiduously hipster jukebox.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Making a bar feel super cozy can be a challenge. When the bar is housed in a lovingly restored home in East Austin, the battle for that vibe of snuggly yet adult comfort becomes a cakewalk. This is one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood, where pretty wood floors, well-seasoned furniture and hand-painted signage create a vintage feel that roams freely from 1860 to 1960. The care put into creating a lovely, laid-back vibe that is simple and old-fashioned seems effortless, which is a perfect place to get lost in for a few hours.
