Hidden away in the North Loop, Ned Elliotts temple to meat is radical, original, intense, and unique. It's a one of a kind restaurant that feels right in the neighborhood but has attracted national attention.
An artisanal open-kitchen eatery, whose menu doesn't shy away from an animal's less-consumed parts: Think pig's brain, bull's heart, and the like. I've tried the former twice, and found it ever so slightly mushy for my taste; the latter however is tender and satisfying -- just like I hope my own heart to be.

Duck broth w candy cane beet, brussel sprout, dill, peanut, and bacon lining the base - your taste buds will do the happy dance. Chef Ned Elliot creates flavors that will send your mouth soaring. Try everything!

While visiting Austin, we knew we had to check out this place. We sat at the "bar" which is really a view of the kitchen. They have a great beer and wine list (plenty of local beers to pick from) and the food was stellar. The gruyere popovers are addicting! Local, tasty food and a changing menu, definitely worth multiple visits.

Pig's brains! Beef heart tartare! Wagyu beef! If you're an adventurous foodie, this is the place! Gourmet spin on meat & veggies. Delish!
My Mouth's Favorite Place. Get your offal fix here, or go veggie-- either way you won't be disappointed. Sit at the counter for a great view of the ktichen & friendly banter with the staff.
Innovative and delicious food at a reasonable price. I've been to F&D three times and am going again tonight for their New Years Eve truffle dinner. The food and service have never failed to impress me. The dishes are inventive, playful, and extremely tasty.
Odd Experience.
The food wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. The price was fairly decent for the ambiance and what you expected the place to be, but that is where things went a bit wrong.
If all the dishes actually had the ingredients that were advertised, than maybe it would have met expectations. As it was, nothing was that great and some things were rather disappointing.
