Great Training! Great People!. I heard about Gracie Barra through a friend who trains at Gracie Barra in Houston and I trust very much. So, I decided to go and check out the North Austin location. I'm so glad that I did! I've been training there for approximately 9 months now and I've loved every minute of it. It's now just an integrated part of my lifestyle. When I can't go, I'm not happy.

The training is amazing. The instructors are all very experienced and very good at showing details so that you learn technique properly. You get in great shape too! I got much more lean just by adding this to my fitness training. I've seen some of my classmates who were overweight when they started lose 20-30 pounds. If you want to compete, they'll help you do that. But, if you just want to train and get in shape, they're totally fine with that too. There's never any pressure to do anything you don't want to do.

Most of all, the people are awesome! There are no knuckleheads or bullies. Everybody (instructors and students) have great attitudes and are there to help each other. It really does feel like a family environment.

Jiu Jitsu for Everyone says it all. I joined at Gracie Barra North Austin about 4 months ago. I am currently a three stripe white belt. Having trained in other martial art schools, nothing matches the atmosphere at Gracie Barra. I immediately felt welcomed and at the end of my first class there was no high pressure sales pitch. The school is serious about teaching Jiu Jitsu and presents in a format that EVERYONE can relate to. They have two black belts on staff and both are top notch instructors. There is also several brown, purple, and blue belt coaches with lots of experience. No matter your background, skill level, or fitness level you should definitely consider adding Jiu Jitsu to your life. My 6 year old son now goes and this has become something we do together as a family. This school is not about becoming the next MMA star and who's the toughest, its about learning Jiu Jitsu. It's about becoming a part of family. I have become friends with my Professors, coaches, training partners. This school has a great training program that follows a step by step learning curve. World Class Jiu Jitsu. I've been really impressed with GB North Austin. I've trained at other places in town and GB North Austin is by far the superior choice.

The other gyms in town are good but ... two world class Professors ... Jiu Jitsu straight from Brazil ... Professor Fabiana placed third at the worlds this year ... can't be beat!

I could go on and on and on ... come check it out!

Oh, and my 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter love it also!

All the black belt instructors in Austin have extensive background training and teaching around the world. The curriculum is suitable for men, women, and children. There's currently a variety of students from all walks of life. It is refreshing to see individuals gather together and forget about their stressful day to learn this intricate art and help each other in each class. You will find yourself learning techniques, losing weight, and getting stronger without getting caught up with counting calories or keeping track of reps. Come check it out!

Jiu-Jitsu like no other. The philosophy taught in the Gracie Barra system are like no other. "Organized like a team, fighting like a family"

Here everyone is very friendly and they want to be there and help you. The professors are amazing at what they do and great people to know personally. This is a place where the whole family can train and grow together, the people are all very friendly and all are welcome. Hope to see you there!

World-Class Instructions. Great place to train for kids and adults - men and women. The academy is one of the nicest and cleanest martial arts schools in town. The professors are world-class and there are many great training partners.

Great Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The new Gracie Barra North Austin location is just what I was looking for in a BJJ school: convenient location, great instruction, clean mats, and a respect for the art and its students. Being a part of the school is being a part of the greater GB family.

I would recommend coming by and watching a class and see if it is for you. You will certainly be made to feel welcome.
