this place rocks!!!.
great menu..great bar...great service
from the menu to the plush chairs to the flat screens...try not to have a good time at this place...service is over the top ...menu is awesome...and prices are VERY reasonable....avoid the crowds at Threadgills and listen to their bands from the decks!!!
Good Views, Great Foods....
...are at the top of the Decks over there... Worth every step up those stairs, and the daunting task of walking back down kept me reasonably sober... I say 'reasonably' because my shots had a generous pour, and the cold beer flowed like, well, beer...
I can't always eat when I've been drinking, so I was surprised at myself when I ordered the Fireman's 4 Steamed Mussels and Fish Tacos (Blackened, not Battered, I mean, we're trying to be healthy, right?)... Maybe it was the proximity to the lake... These dishes weren't from the Lake, though... The broth on the Mussels was good enough to pour over rocks and drink (no Jersey Shore pickle juice shots for me), and the Sriracha Mayo on the fries added just the right kick to a delicious dish... My girl doesn't even like Mussels, but after tasting some of the broth that had saturated her fries she gave one a try, then two, then three...
The Fish Tacos were enough for a meal, three of them that had just the right proportion of Fish, Avocado, and Ginger Slaw, and that Chipotle Aioli added just the right amount of creamy heat... My girl thought the Slaw was "too ginger-y," but I found that part particularly appealing...
Already stuffed, we ordered an entree anyway, glad we split it because that Grilled Pork Chop wasn't kidding when my Server said "Double Cut"... Every bite I took included the Pork, the Whipped Sweet Potatoes, and a tiny bit of Green Beans (eat your vegetables!), and it was like a Thanksgiving party in my mouth... Better, though, because my sketchy Uncle was nowhere to be seen...
Needing to save room for more 512 IPA, we grabbed a dessert to go (we already had a bag of leftovers coming home with us, so why not?), and by the time we got back to the couch drunk, full, and exhausted the Layered Chocolate Mousse Cake had melted just enough to entice us to eat it... And oh, were we glad we did...
The top Deck could use TVs (2 weeks, our Server told us; again, great service, barely sweating after all those stairs), and apparently the bar upstairs hasn't filled out yet, but they had my Jameson's and my draft beer so I was just fine... Better than fine, fantastic... Keep it up, guys, and good luck...
