While my inner snob prickles at some of Roll On's more liberal creations, like the "Cholesta Roll" -- a rice/gravy/chicken fried steak fever dream -- the overall concept of this sushi diner is a great one, falling somewhere between sushi food trailer and sushi restaurant proper. Aside from the Cholesta Roll, I've had some fresh, lovely rolls here, like the Hippie Roll, filled with cucumber, avocado and asparagus.

If you love sushi, but don't want to pay $$, Roll On is a must. Their plates range from $3.95-$6.95. Try their Beefy Texan brisket roll. Mmm
Fantastic, Forward-Thinking Sushi Bar.
Some of the best Sushi I've had here in Austin. The atmosphere is great and feels very personal. There is a central sushi bar that is wrapped around by a U-shaped eating area. It's got a great old-school diner feel with modern design elements applied, such as the twin plasma screens displaying Roll On's Twitter stream in real time.
It's cool to watch your sushi being rolled right in front of you. They offer a lot of unique sushi options, as well as some old favorites, all for a very reasonable price. All in all, this is one of my new favorite places to eat lunch and I highly recommend it.
Awesome sushi and the price is right!. Awesome sushi and the price is right! They have something for everyone here!
Good food, friendly staff and neat diner decor!. I thought it was delicious and you could tell the staff was into their job and wanted to make sure you were happy. Good food, clean and happy environment. I will definitely back to try every roll. : )
Awesome Fusion Sushi Experience!.
There is so much to love about Roll On Sushi Diner. First and foremost it's the sushi itself, both traditional and fusion sushi including a chicken fried steak roll that sits in a bed of white gravy.
The decor is super cool a mix of 50's diner and urban progressive. Everyone sits around the diner and orders directly from the chefs. The music is great, the owners used locally sourced product including the great Amy's ice cream for desert. The secret will be out soon and my guess is this place will be packed. I'll see you there.
