Between the long-lasting fanfare of Uchiko, his win on Top Chef, and juggling three East Side King food trailers, Paul Qui has been a busy guy. Apparently not too busy, though, to open up a brand new brick n' mortar with his chef friend, Moto Utsunomiya: Stashed inside Hole in the Wall, the first East Side King with an industrial kitchen will dish up menu favorites (like MY favorite, the fried brussels sprouts) as well as ramen (Sapporo Beer Bacon Miso Ramen, anyone?). ESK at Hole in the Wall is open for dinner Mon-Sat, and lunch Mon-Fri. Speaking of which, who says noon is too early to drink? They've added Japanese beers on tap and sake to the menu as well.

Crispy beets are hands down an Austin legend! It may sound weird, but take my word for it, they're out of this world.

The Liberty Bar stop of Eastside King sells several sandwich/wrap type things that are almost banh mi, but not quite -- and these riffs are outstanding. My favorite is the Curry Bun, which starts with a deep-fried bun (!), stuffed with homemade peanut butter curry, basil, cilantro, mint, and magic.

Japanese street food meets Thai, Mexican & Chinese flavors. Chicken karage & Pork belly buns are must try. Fried beets make for a great side

Brainchild of Top Chef winner Qui. Best deal Japanese fusion in town. Try beat fries or tongue buns. Late night grub will never be the same.
