Best Hair Stylist in Austin - Austin Chronicle. The salon is a private, delightful and cultivated spot that has the elegance of NYC with the warmth of Janet's personal NOLA-hospitality. I have to say it was profoundly the best hair cut experience I have had in all my "time in the chair," (which has been considerable; including L.A. and Chicago). Her technique and mastery is really something to behold. But, what makes the experience really special is how she 'informs' you throughout the cut with techniques to style and shape the cut into a veritable wardrobe of looks. I was quite impressed. Bonus! Free Parking makes the appointment feel far from the masses...Janet's so good, I'm almost reluctant to post the review--in fear that once news of this new salon spreads...appointments will be tougher to score. Highly recommended.

Finally...A Real Salon. I have been to most of the ‘top’ rated salons in Austin…once. None have made me want to go back, until now. The Janet St. Paul Studio is AMAZING. I am 34 and Janet is the first stylist, ever, that actually took the time to have a real consultation with me. She listened to my wants and concerns, offered suggestions and together we came up with a style. She is meticulous, professional, brilliant, and pays attention to every detail! I LOVE my hair – it looks good straight, wavy, or curled. Janet’s studio is welcoming, cozy, and delightful. There is easy parking in the adjacent garage or on the street. Another great surprise was running into Shannon. I had my color done by Shannon at her previous salon and she did an amazing job. I never made it back down to see her because of the location of the salon. So…check out The Janet St. Paul Studio and see Janet or Shannon. You will be glad you did!!
