So, spoiler alert: Luke's Inside Out was on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins. And for good reason: Luke's specialty is their selection of griddle sandwiches, which sound humble enough, until you read the ingredients. "The Shrimp" isn't simply tiny pink crustaceans languishing on boring bread; it's chipotle rosemary shrimp, with bleu cheese, apple, and honey (holy...) on toasted French bread. Needless to say, I'm a fan. Not feeling sandwiches? Order the mapo tuna fingers with sesame slaw. Just trust me on that one.
It's no longer a surprise when food
trailers serve us beautiful plates of well-sourced fare, but still, I was pleased to see Luke's Inside Out's cheese plate -- straightforward enough with gouda, blue cheese, fruit, olives -- so generously presented, and with high-quality versions of each element. Note that this item is listed under "shareables" on their menu, but I'm happy to report that it's 100% possible to hog it all for yourself.
