Jordan Weeks is a man who knows quality beer. He's been brewing for 15 years now, and his affection for the process is obvious: He even leads public tours of his brewery, showing Austinites exactly where their frosty glass of Saison D'Austin or Belgian Style Golden Ale comes from. We like the latter for summertime (which may technically end now but doesn't REALLY end in Austin until late September): It's easy on the hops, light and fruity, and the perfect companion for a demure cheese plate.
Just across from The Music Lab, it's
easy to pop into South Austin Brewery for a sample on Groovy Sundays, when they invite local musicians and food trucks to entertain you while you sip. South Austin Brewery just opened this year, and while it doesn't offer an enormous selection (yet), it focuses instead on perfecting dangerously good Belgian-style ales, like the Saison D'Austin.
