What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying
Casa Brasil opened up in 2005 as a Brazilian cultural center, evolved to a Brazilian coffee roaster in 2007, and now, hosts a weekend coffee/beer tour with South Austin Brewery. Everything here is family-run and operated, right down to the sweet coffee bags that co-owner Lisiane Shuler hand-paints. Voted one of the best coffees in Central Texas by the Austin American-Statesman, you can find bags of Casa Brasil coffee at just about every indie and gourmet grocer in town, but we recommend swinging by Casa Brasil itself to meet the sweet owners -- and to smell the potent aroma of fresh Brazilian coffee, which seems to caffeinate me on inhalation alone.
