A Houston import, Pinot's Palette was quickly embraced in Austin's artsy bosom when it opened this summer on South Lamar. BYOB, DIY art studios like these are popping up in Austin -- Painting with a Twist is another one -- but what makes Pinot's Palette particularly unique are its Saturday night couples events (usually starting around 7:00pm), where you and your sweetie can paint Van Gogh together. Just make sure nobody's ear gets cut off in the process.

BYOB painting party? I'm in. Pinot's Palette is a Houston import, and the concept goes something like this: You bring the drinks and snacks, they provide the art supplies and painting lesson. Some night it's Cubism, other nights it's Impressionism (or is that the pinot making things look all fuzzy?).
