Reviews for Aca Appliance And Air Conditioning

July 29, 2013

This company is borderline criminal. I called them on Friday, July 26th 2013 and asked them to come out and get my A/C working. I just had the condenser hooked up as far as the electric goes. When the guy arrived, he got out of his van and left it running as if he didn't plan on being there long. He walks up to me and without even introducing himself. He seemed a little rude from the get-go, but I just wanted A/C.

I explained how the quick disconnect was getting power on the Line side, but not the Load side. He pulled it out and after poking around things, told me, "This is what your problem is, you have no fuse in the disconnect." I didn't think they took a fuse, but wasn't going to argue with the "professional".

At this he appeared to be pissed off, all because I did not have a fuse. I asked him to put one in if it needed it and he said he didn't have one. I then suggested I run into town and get one, which, would have taken me about 10-15 minutes. He informed me that he did not have time to wait for that. I asked him why he couldn't be doing the other things that needed to be done, in the meantime. He said he didn't have time for that. So, if he didn't have time for that, then he wouldn't have time for the job if I had the fuse, so why did this jerk even come out?

I then informed him that the unit needed freon (R-22). Now, I know R-22 is more expensive, but he proceeded to tell me it would cost me $600.00 for 6lbs, yet I have confirmed with 5-6 other companies that it is about $45/lb and ended up paying $300 for a fill up. I informed him that was an exorbitant price and with that he says, "Well, call them the, I am done here, I will take my $45 service charge and be gone." and he threw the pull out for the quick disconnect on the ground.

At this point, I ordered him to leave my property, that he wasn't get S**t, he hasn't done anything. He proceeded to call me every name in the book all the way back to the van. I did admittedly use a few choice words on him, but he was on my property, disrespecting me, throwing my property and lying to me.

Here is the kicker. I verified 100% that the quick disconnect is a NON-FUSIBLE disconnect and it is now working, without a fuse, what a shocker. This jerk was either lying to me or completely ignorant to his supposed profession. Calling the company to complain got me nothing more than them supporting their scamming employee, stating freon is expensive and some disconnects can accept a fuse. That is irrelevant, because he was wrong and tried charging me for it.

Stay FAR, FAR away from these shysters.

Great Service. I found these guys in my local phone book. Gave them a call and they were polite and professional. Best of all they did a great job at a good price.

Came out to fix something, didn't fix it. I had ACA come out from my warranty company to fix a broken igniter on a GE gas range. They came, and tweaked it and left. It never worked right. I attempted to have them come out again and look at it, and that entailed about 5 back-and-forths with customer service which was a huge headache. Finally they came out and said that the ceramic piece was chipped and that's why it didn't work. Of course it doesn't work, that's why you came out to fix it. They wouldn't offer any way of fixing it and suggested I pay for it myself. I already paid the service fee for you to come out and fix it, and now you want me to pay for it. Really shady company, can't recommend them for quality of work, customer service and ability to backup their work.

Worst Customer Service, Doesn't Warrant Their Own Work. ACA was employed by the previous owner of my house to fix the display board on a dishwasher. The previous owner had a warranty company handle it. During the inspection, the inspector noted that the dishwasher worked flawlessly, completing a full cycle, but the display board was fried and you basically couldn’t get any of the lights to work. Anyways, ACA came out and fixed the display board. However, to access the display board, the front door needs to be disassembled. After completing the work, the dishwasher now leaks badly out of the front door. It didn’t do that before, and now it does.

I called ACA and attempted 4 times to have someone come to the house. I even took 1 full day off and 3 half-days off to get this done. Not once did they come or even call. It was comical towards the end when even Sharon was saying she can’t understand why it’s so bad. Last Friday I called her at 3pm concerned that no one was going to come yet again. She said someone should be there in the next two hours and that they’d call before they came. At 445, I called and she sounded dumbfounded. Anyways, we postponed to next Friday and she said I’d be the first call. At 9am that Friday, I call and guess what, no ticket for me. Another lady helps and says she’ll get someone out right away. 1 hour later she calls back and says they’re not coming at all. That it’s just been too difficult to get out there and that I need to call my warranty company and get ANOTHER appliance company to fix it.

So basically, they don’t want to spend their time/money to fix/warrant their work. Absolutely horrible company to deal with on all fronts. The organization and customer service and quality of work is all awful, stay away, you’ve been warned!!!
