Awful hemn job! – Last Christmas I used some of my Christmas money to buy a new pair of designer jeans. They were too long, and I asked a friend where I can take them to get them hemned for a good price. She told me that she had heard Cream Vintage did it for a low price.
I took them there, and asked them if they could duplicate the double thread stitching that is on the pockets and seams of the jeans. They told me that they can't do any custom threading, which I thought what weird, but whatever...I was getting them done for cheap, right?
Well, I went to pick them up, and they were the right length when I tried them on in the store. When I went home I started looking closely at the hemn job, only to see that they had totally botched it! The hemn line wasn't even close to straight, tehre were threads sticking out everywhere, and I could see the frayed ends of the denim where it had been cut! It looked AWFUL! I will never go back here again, cheap or not cheap!
Lesson Learned: When you splurg and get an expensive pair of jeans, spend a few extra bucks take them to a real tailor to get them hemned properly...DO NOT TAKE THEM TO CREAM VINTAGE!
Great clothes.. hit or miss staff – I've shopped here several times. I really like the clothes, and some of the staff is super helpful. The gentleman at the campus store with the beard is very helpful and friendly. LW, who does alterations is professional, and does great work. There was another guy who helped me get a stain out of some pants I really wanted.
Unfortunately, not all the staff seems as happy with their jobs. There was another young lady who did alterations and always looked pissed off for some reason. I also just called the South store and asked for the hours. The girl said they're open until 8pm. I said "ok awesome, thanks for your help", to which she responded "but don't come in at 7:58 or something". I waited for her to laugh, but.. nada. She was serious. I was actually going to come by much earlier, but thanks for the assumption. Hey, I know it's the holidays, and you probably want to get home, but that's life. If you don't like your job, quit.
Overall.. great store.
