CAR MAX IS A JOKE. First off they only gave me $2000 for my car which is worth about $6500 blue book and the no haggle price is a joke because they were over $2000 by the Kelly Blue Book on the car I bought. The first day I had the car I had to call a tow truck because I couldn'et get it out of park. It was a convertible and the top was not closing properly and the car was not in alignment it was veering hard to the right. SO MUCH FOR THE 125 POINT INSPECTION. Do not buy your car there.

Laughable Deals, Stay Away. After waiting half an hour or so to receive my "offer" the staff person took several minutes to explain the inspection of my vehicle (11 y/o Camaro, good condition, one owner, lots of new parts/work under warranty) and announced they would give me $600 for my car, well under the KBB value. I basically laughed and said no way and waited for my keys. What a joke and waste of time. I later sold my car to an individual for my asking price of $2500. Do not even stop here to consider doing business with Car Max unless you take pleasure in throwing away money!

These people think you're an idiot. Well I had an idea and tried to trade my truck in to get a small car to be able to pay ahead on some bills. 2 months ago I had a small car and I got $8k (2006 lancer 20k miles) for the car. So I walk in there, I explain to someone that I had spoken to a guy on the internet. I ask for this guy and he can't help any customers. So I walk with a guy who goes into a room (he did not know I was behind him) He says, " I don't want this guy! He has a truck and wants to sell it!!!" So im like great first impression. I let it ride. They appraise my vehicle, and while sitting there he's giving me a spiel about how trucks are being cut in price and how they are pretty much not worth alot because of the gas prices etc. I get the appraisal back and they tell me $8,000 for my truck! So you're telling me that a small car with more miles and 1 year older is worth the same as my 2007 truck? These people are trying to bully or scare people into giving their trucks and bigger vehicles in for nothing! These guys are very rude and want to rip you off!

CAR MAX-ONLY IF YOU HAVE A WALLET FULL OF CREDIT CARDS. me and my fiancee

decided we wanted a new car. I had a few payments left on my old car, but was ready that day to trade it in. I decided to go to car max as from their advertising they seemed like a easy no hassle place. i should have never trusted that. nothing about me was good enough, even though i have credit cards and we have previously bought a car with no problems. apparently each of us having 4 open lines of credit is not good enough for them. the dealer even told me it would be better if we had more bad credit than what we currently have. then they wanted as a last ditch effort for us to come up with 2000 on top of the 1000 we already had, and a co signer.oh and on top of that, we would not really get a choice of the car that they sold us. after telling them no way we couldnt do that, they kept us there trying to talk us into well nothing because there is really nothing they could do for us. my sister and brother and law went with us to get a car as well and they were fist told that they made 10 dollars a month less than their computer told them would be a good income. then they told them the same thing they told us. screw them. i went back to my old dealer and got them to sell me another car for better payments, with a couple of thousand knocked off the price with the down payment that i could afford. they were so rude to us when THEY decided there was nothing they could do for us and COMPLETLEY RUINED THE CHANCES OF EVER GETTING ME TO GO THERE AGAIN OR EVER RECCOMENDING THEM TO ANYONE. wich they could have avoided if they hadent told my fiancee that our car dealer was trying to screw us and wasent helping us by selling us another car.
