the BEST vet in Austin.
There is not enough good I can say about this vet. I absolutely love them. They are far and away the best animal care our cats have received in Austin.
The two times we went were very difficult (otherwise I might not feel so confident reviewing them). Our sweet cat was on his last legs. We had been to another vet several times and simply felt they weren't helping our cat and weren't being direct with us. (However, they did not forget to charge us!)
We brought our terminally sick cat to Travis Country and our cat (who at that point had two days left to live) was purring in their arms. One tech danced his sick little body around the room and sang to him. When it was time to say goodbye to him, they were so loving, patient, and understanding. Then, today, we got a sympathy card with a personal note.
I'll never go to another vet. We'll be bringing our other cats (and any other pets we acquire) there. If we leave Austin, we may drive or fly to bring our pets to these folks. I cannot recommend them enough.…
Excellent staff & pet care.
I really like this animal hospital because it is friendly to people and pets alike, has quality vet and vet tech care, they are always available for questions and the cost of care charged is
extremely reasonable.
Our geriatric dog sees Dr. Lauren B., who is so gentle with him that it is as though she is handling a newborn. I can ask as many questions as I want, and she doesn't get annoyed. I always feel like we are her only clients because we are never rushed.
Financially, they have been sensitive and conscientious of my delicate situation, which I REALLY appreciate.
Overall, this is the best animal care in Austin for my dog.…
Absolutely the Best. Of all the vets I've used in my lifetime, Dr. Corky and his crew are the best of the best. He is very straightforward and tells you what you need to know, and you can also tell that he really cares about doing what's in the best interest of the animal (not just what will ring up a big bill, like some vets might do). On several occasions he has told me "we'll just keep an eye on it - I don't want to go cutting into her if its not necessary" whenever my dog injures herself. A few times when surgery or procedures were necessary, and I had to go back in a few times for further checkups, they did not charge for the visit (a couple times they did, some other times not). Their prices are very reasonable and I love the fact that their office is not 'glamorous', meaning I'm not paying high prices just for marble floors and designer wall paint. The place is older, but clean. Dr. Lauren Buys is new and young, but very talented and gentle with the animals. I've only seen Dr. John once and he was nice - he's my least favorite of the three but I have no complaints about him. I just prefer Dr. Corky or Lauren when they are available. Recently we had a small emergency and Dr. Lauren operated on my dog over her lunch break the same day. I don't think you would find that kind of service anywhere else. Luckily I live close by, but I would drive 100 miles to get there if I had to.…
Best Vets in Austin.
I found Dr John to be the most compassionate vet I've ever run across, and I've had dogs all my life. When he's not there, Corky is a straight shooter, will tell you exactly how he sees it, which may
not be what you want to hear, but he's honest and has been around for a long time.
They are very reasonably priced and the office staff is great.…
Made my wife come home and cry. Dr. John wouldn't listen, wasn't interested in our story and implied that we didn't love our animals if we didn't agree with their methods, using the worst sort of emotional blackmail. I can't say much about his competence because he just agreed with a previous diagnosis, but I do know that the whole experience was quite disturbing. We won't be back.…
