I first heard about Eastside Yoga when a friend invited me to their Sunday morning meditation class. A sweet little Scottish man led it, and after a good 45 minutes of sitting stillness, I practically floated out of the room. But I didn't know until recently about the other classes Eastside offers, which are more physically rigorous: I'm keen to try the "Strengthen and Lengthen" class, which promises "core exercises to help build and maintain a strong powerhouse." And any class that encourages me to refer to my body as a "powerhouse" is frankly one that I like already.
In addition to packed yoga classes,
what makes Eastside Yoga special is their Sunday morning meditation: A guided, 45-minute silent group meditation that is every bit as centering as Eastside's more physically rigorous offerings. Tip: After meditation, pop across the street to Blue Dahlia Bistro for brunch.
