Very Good Service. Our only 3 year old television went out and intially we just wanted to buy a new television, since calling the manufacturer was far from helpful. But after doing a search online for television repair, we decided to bring it in to Dean TV. They diagnosed it and said it needed a replacement motherboard. It took a week for the part and repair, and they tested it in the store before I left. The price was reasonable and they also applied the diagnosis fee towards the repair cost. Lo and behold a few months later, we received a notice from the manufacturer involving a class action suit in which they would cover the cost of repairs for faulty sets. We had long discarded the invoice and receipt from Dean TV, but they were great and helped us get a copy from their records so we could apply for our credit from the manufacturer. If you're looking for a straighforward television repair for a decent price, I would highly recommend Dean TV.
Great Service.
Drove all the way from Bastrop because the local TV repair service which is just a few miles from home wanted a hefty price just to diagnose my problem.
Dean TV said they would call me that same day to let me know what was wrong and and the cost of repair. I stayed in Austin less than an hour when I got their call, not only saying how much it cost but that I could pick it up if I am still in Austin within another hour, Very fair cost and my HDTV works better than ever. Excellent service glad I found them.
Dean is CON ARTIST. If I could give less stars I would. I brought a semi busted (white dots on screen, still fully functioning) 65" TV to Dean, who charged me $29 for his tech to take the back off. They told me what it would cost something like $600+, I stopped listening after he started rattling off tech fee's. Retrieved the TV from Dean and now the thing is 100% busted, it will not turn on. Dean is not giving me my money back. Since I know little about TV's, I would assume Dean gutted my unit for the useable parts and replaced with crap ones. Dean didn't care so I will no longer bring business to him and I wish him terrible luck. Thank you Con artist Dean!
Fixed my 24" LCD monitor, warrantied work, friendly staff.. I started having intermittent issues with my 24" Acer LCD monitor of 3.5 years (6 months out of manufacturer warranty of course). Somtimes it would come on then turn off again while using the DVI port. I took it into Deans for a free estimate, and they called the next day saying they could repair it. At first I decided to just take it home and not worry about repairs - after all it was an intermittent issue (but I knew it would only get worse) - and after speaking with Ron at the front counter, who was very friendly, I was confident leaving it with him to do the repairs. I also spoke with the owner, Dean, when I went to pick it up. He seems to be a customer-service oriented gentleman, and assured me they would take care of it if there were any problems with the service. When I picked it up, they had it connected to show me that it was functioning properly. I love this monitor and would have hated to get rid of it. Deans saved me a new monitor purchase, and they warrantied their repairs for 60 days. Warranty is always good! I also spoke with Ron about maybe bringing in my 40" Samsung LCD TV in the future (it's starting to make noise). I have a feeling it's the cooling fans, so I will try to shoot some compressed air in there and see if that helps. If not, I'll bring it to Deans (or have them come to my home) once it starts getting REALLY annoying.
Thanks
Dean
Dean's "authorized by Emerson/Funnai". When our two month old Emerson 32"LCD went dead, we went through a 3 day runaround ending with an authorization number and a phone number to Dean's TV in San Marcos. When Emerson asked if they were close, I told them no but that was all they offered. When I called Dean's he got the authorization number and told me to "bring it in but call first to make sure someone is there". When I told him I was in McDade he repeated the "call first" instructions. Called Emerson again, they gave us HD TV in Austin, who said "bring it in between 9 and 6". Being 40 miles closer and not needing an appointment, seems like it would have been the first option. Dean's may be great but I'm not going to go to someplace to leave my equipment where they are out making calls.
Dear Hezekiahj
You are making comment on different company. We are Dean TV Repair & Electronics in Austin NOT in San Marcos and we have a big service center with fully staff. You don't have to make an appointment to bring your TV in.
Please remove your comment.
Thanks
Dean
The Reviews are Right.
I searched for a reputable TV Repair service when my 3 year old 47” Vizio went kapoot.
I drove 40 miles to Dean’s TV Repair because of all the positive reviews I saw here. I had a very good experience and was relieved to get my TV fixed at a very reasonable price. Well worth the drive to know that I was not going to get ripped off and waste a trip.
I just wanted to confirm that Dean’s is the place to take your electronics for repair.
I found out that they would have come to my area (Hamilton Pool – outside of Dripping Springs) – but I saved a few dollars taking my TV in.
Highly recommended.
Dean TV Repair Goes the Extra Mile!.
Our 72" Mitsubishi DLP television stopped working after only one and a half years, and I called Dean TV Repair to see about getting it repaired. I can't say enough about how polite and professional the repairman was. He kept us informed by telephone about the arrival of the part to the shop, he even came to our home on Thanksgiving day, because he knew we had people who would be at our home for the holiday!
The problem was that the lamp cartridge had burned out, and after replacing it, our TV is back in service. I would recommend Dean TV Repair to anyone needing service on their television set.
Not That Great!!!. Called these guys about a 21" Viewsonic monitor I had that was not working properly. Guy was very friendly and nice. Told me it would be $19 to look at it, The problem I had was the monitor light stays on like you are getting a signal, but no picture. If you turn it on and off the screen comes on for a second and then goes off again so it is not the screen itself. But Dean's told me that no matter what was wrong with it I would end up paying $150. I have a huge problem with that as number one, how do you quote a price without even looking art it and number two you can buy a new one with what they want to charge you to fix the old one.
Fast, Friendly, Walk-in Service. When one of my computer monitors went to black and I couldn't quickly find a similar replacement I searched for repair online and found Dean TV Repair & Electronics. I don't live close so they repaired it while I waited. The service was excellent and I highly recommend them to everyone needing electronics repairs. These guys are good. Give them a call.
Great Customer Service and Repairs. We contacted Dean's when our 50" went out and they came to our house as scheduled. When it couldn't be repaired at home they took the TV to the shop and returned it as promised. We did call them back when the same issue came up and they came out the same day, fixed it, and didn't charge for the follow-up. I was very impressed with their level of service and would use them again in a heartbeat not to mention recommend them to anyone.
