Dishonest and Corrupt – TERRIBLE taxi company with DISHONEST Drivers. The drivers will take advantage of you every chance they can to increase their fares. This dishonesty goes deeper into the company as I left a bag in the cab, called the lost and found 7 times and never received a call back. This was after I waited the absurd waiting period of 5 business days. I can only assume that the lost and found sells your lost items on ebay and if they don't sell in 5 business day you may be luck enough to get a call. I even stopped by the office twice during the lost an found hours and never met the person in charge of the lost and found, which was always in some office that no one could get into.

They don't pay taxes – Imagine the tax dollars they could be contributing to the economy. When I lived in Austin, I drove a cab and paid taxes on what I earned, but 90% of cab drivers do not pay them. there are also alot of cab drivers from other countries whose visa's are expired.

Fraudulent accounting practices – I took a cab from downtown recently, and upon arriving home, I asked the driver to add over 20% to the total. Not only did he not say thank you, but the next morning, I saw three separate charges (all different totals) on my card. I immediately called the company to clear it up, and they promised to refund two of those charges (they said the driver was getting "duplicate charge messages", imagine that). This morning, I see a 4th charge on the card for a completely different amount. These charges are now totaling more than $220, and I have had to cancel my credit card and dispute the them, because I cannot get through to their accountant. I looked on the BBB site and noticed they have an "F" rating, as they've had at least 4 other complaints this past year, one of which was ignored. I would venture to say this happens more often than the ratings would indicate, as not everyone follows through. I will definitely avoid using this company in the future.

One of the drivers got road rage when I didn't excelerate my automobile the millisecond the light turned green. After honking and swerving violently into traffic trying to get next to me, he threw an empty glass bottle in my passenger window which collided with my 14 year old daughter's head and zoomed off in a cowardly escape. I didn't get the number of the cab because I was tending to my injured daughter, so I suppose they win...this round.

I simply do not believe that. The drivers go through EXTENSIVE background checks, driving courses and numerous other requirements just to be able to drive. There is no way after doing all of those things someone throw an object at your daughter.

Reckless Cab Driver – At approximately 2:45 PM on Wed. 08-05-09, I was driving North on IH-35 toward my home in Round Rock, TX, and was just coming into the South end of Round Rock, when I saw a Yellow Cab (Mini-Van) whipping in and out of traffic, and at one point, was doing approximately 90 miles per hour. He cut in front of a number of vehicles, in effect “cutting them off.”

He then went for the Highway 620 Exit, cutting across four double lines (against the law), and cut off two more vehicles. He turned going West on Highway 620 and was speeding and whipping in and out of traffic all the while, and talking of the phone the whole time.

Unfortunately he got held up in slower traffic, and as I almost got up along side of him (with less than 1 ½ car links between me and the car in front of me), he suddenly whipped in front of me, nearly causing me to have to go head-on in the oncoming lane to avoid him. When I flashed my lights and honked my horn, he began shaking his fist at me and shooting me the finger !

I became so mad that I motioned him to pull over so I could pull him out and whip his a$$ ! He never would pull over, and kept whipping in and out of traffic, cutting off more drivers.

This man appeared to be a foreign national, and apparently that’s how they drive in the country of his origin, but this type of driving is strictly unlawful in this country. The man is going to cause a serious accident someday, and someone will be seriously injured, or worse ! If it happens to be someone in my family who is hurt by this man, I’ll not only see him personally in court, but will also see the Yellow Cab Company there.

It would be in the best interest of Yellow Cab, NOT to hire this type of driver. If I were riding in this man’s cab and he was driving in this manner, I would demand that he stop and let me out, no matter where it was !

At the very least, I personally, will never ride in a Yellow Cab, and I’m telling all my family and friends about this incident.

Good luck to Yellow Cab in the future, they’re going to need it !

Road rage drivers and glass projectiles...‎ – One of the drivers got road rage when I didn't excelerate my automobile the millisecond the light turned green. All I can do now is ask you, the good citizens of Austin, to spurn Yellow Cab as you would a rabid dog or pedophile, and maybe write some angry letters as my family and I are planning to do. Thank you.

Ask for this cab – Ask for Mike cab 370. This driver is nice and curteous. Unlike some others who tend to be just plain rude.

Horrible service – Well, for the second time in a row, I was stood up by Yellow Cab. We made reservations for New Years at 11 in the morning for someone to pick us up at 9:45 at night. They told me since it was a busy night, they might be a little late. By the time 10:30 rolled around I started calling them. Since it was New Years, it took forever to get someone on the phone. When I did, the dispatcher informed me that she would buzz the driver. They still never came or even called. I understand it was a busy night, but don't accept reservations if you aren't going to show up!!!!! We finally ended up getting Austin Cab Company on the phone and they had someone there for us within 10 minutes. If you want to actually get to your destination, call Austin Cab Company and do not us Yellow Cab!!!

Poor service – I had trouble understanding the driver, first off. He needs to learn to speak clearly for a start.

And I was in a hurry, and he didn't get there soon enough to make the taxi fare worth while. All in all, it saved me 15 minutes tops. On top of that, he accused me of being rude and shutting the door too hard. For Pete's sake, those doors are quite heavy for a small person like me, and I had to slide it pretty hard to shut it. I probably won't ride Yellow Cab if that's the service I get.

All in all, I haven't found taxis a very reliable form of transportation for locals. Perhaps I should wait for rail.

HORRIBLE Cab Service In Austin - AVOID AT ALL COSTS – I'm done with you, Yellow Cab. YOU ARE HORRIBLE..

I understand that your drivers are independent contractors completely disassociated from Yellow Cab Inc. or whatever, but the drivers you have in Austin are horrible (or pretend to be.)

I live very close to downtown. Your drivers act like they have no clue where to go around here (you're a fu**ing cab driver for chrissakes, "Enfield & Exposition" is not the Bermuda Triangle. You should know which roads to take downtown and not act surprised about the one way streets and late-night traffic.)

I'm fed up with Yellow Cab - your drivers are a bunch of whiny pu**ies trying to milk their passengers for every last penny. F**k you, I said it.

I understand that you won't change. There will always be business for you. Drunk sorority girls and the crowd off sixth street will go on forever. That's fantastic for you. But for the people who have grown up in Austin, who look for reliable taxi service around town, Yellow Cab IS THE WORST - they charge the most and act like the have no idea of where to go. DO NOT USE THIS CAB COMPANY - THEY ARE HORRIBLE.
