Conceptually, Flour and Vine is still finding its sea legs. Its menu is high-end Southern soul mixed with a little Italian, its nighttime performers are Chicago jazz, and its decor is...an 80s take on "modern?" There's a lot going on here. But still, the service is lovely, the wine selection vast, and the BBQ pulled pork sliders I tried were juicy and perfectly salty-sweet. My dining companion ordered the grilled vegetable lasagna, and closed her eyes in satisfaction with nearly every bite. I hope this little place stays open; it just needs to decide on one cohesive vision, and embrace it.
