Helm Boots is a half shoe store, half bonafide gallery that just sprang up in east Austin – and my oh my, is it pretty. Sure, there are boots here, but unlike oh, say, a DSW, Helm immerses you in a little world of rugged, beautiful men and their rugged, beautiful handicrafts. The décor is rough woods and beat-up books, with leatheralicious low-tops and hi-tops peaking out from various shelves. Pricewise these boots are a pretty penny, but the lustful looks you'll get walking out in your sassy new pair? Priceless.

If I were a guy, I'd be sporting some HELM boots for sure. But even as a gal I enjoy shopping a HELM! The staff is uber nice, and they carry a great little assortment of vintage finds.

Boot porn: Helm is a newish boot store/studio on the east side, and just insanely beautiful. They specialize in "investment boots" for dudes (around $400/pop), but even if you're a lady, just perusing the space is fun -- it looks less like a shoe store, and more like a hip art gallery.
