Somethings wrong. Not sure what's going on. Read so many sterling reviews about the barbecue. Highest rated barbecue from Texas Monthly. Ate there this weekend. People behind the counter could not have been nicer. Sausage link good, nice flavor and spice. Beef rib tender and juicy, very little flavor. Brisket, maybe the worst I've eaten. Tough, could not tear apart, had to cut it. Not chewable, dry and flavorless. Side of bean just boiled pintos, tasted like a boiled bean. Don't forget, there is no sauce, just a cup of beef juice to dip the meat into. Glad to have made the journey, now I don't have to go back.
Gotta get the sampler piece. Don't let the smokey ceilings and tar covered windows scared you, Louie Mueller's is probably the best restaurant in Taylor...period. The food is good, but the best part of the experience is the Taylor hosipitality. Every customer gets a free piece of sample meet which you can't pass up. If you're in Taylor, you need to stop by to expereince it for yourself.
the best of all the rest. this is the best place in the state of texas. i go there alot and i can never get enough of this delicious barbeque, the best sausage, potato salad, their beans are the best. just the best of all the rest. period its the best.
One of Texas' best!. This is Texas BBQ at it's finest! When you have eaten this meat, you learn what BBQ is really all about!
Meat lovers Delight.
I have tasted B_BQue at eight of the top 10 places
listed on your top 10 and only one other compares to the wonderful tasty B-Bque that can only be found at Louie Mueller's, come and taste for yourself, you'll come back for more!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worth the Drive. Best ribs around. You are given a little sample of brisket while in line deciding what to order. Served on butcher paper with a great bar-b-que sauce.
A Texas Tradition.. For the greatest tast In real slow cooked on the range Bar-B-Q, You can`t beat louie`s, I teethed on Louie`s mutton and rib bones, I now live in Yogoslavia, But When I land in Austin I head straight to Taylor and Louie Muellers.
LONG LIVE LOUIES.
This is the best BBQ in the nation as far as I am concerned. How can anyone in their right mind put Louie Muellers behind Pok-e-Joe's and Rudy's (unless they were given free meal coupons or something for the promotion)?
Louie's is the epitome of BBQ. Just going into the place makes you feel like youre going into a different era. The smokey walls, the small town people, the incredibly good BBQ that isnt overtly trying to cater to the ultra pretentious. Where else can you go eat BBQ within 100 miles of Austin and see people ride up on horses to stop by for some brisket (which is the most tender I have ever tasted)? Louie's is Americana at it's best. Louie's is Texas.
Old Time Atmosphere. On an average day, the brisket at Louie Muellers is tender and juicy. All the fixings are available from the counter. Seat yourself, but you might want to sit by big sliding door in the summer time. They don't have AC and the pits are inside, so it can get pretty hot.
Real BBQ. Yes, County Line is consistant. Yes, Stubbs has live music and fairly good food. But for the real bbq experience, you cant beat Luie's. First off, it's on the main street of a little town, second the white-washed building, third, THE WALLS (black with smoke) and most important, wonderful bbq and great sides. This place is so worth the short drive.
