Great Salons

by TG4LYFE

I won't say I do or do not work at a Toni&Guy Salon, for obvious reasons, but I will say I have great insider information about this salon. First of all for those of you who complained about the service at Barton Creek, I will agree with you because I may or may not have worked there at one point and even as an employee or non-employee I was not treated very nicely. For the person that complained about the blonde gay male at Lakeline, he is no longer working there. If you go to a Toni&Guy salon presently, I would recommend getting your stylist or color technician's cell phone numbers in case they leave T&G. Otherwise you will never find out where they moved to, because yes the Toni&Guy staff is not allowed to tell anyone where previous employess have gone, and they are required to recommend a new stylist at Toni&Guy for you to go to. If you would like recommendations for stylists and color technicians I am going to list their names and reasons to go to them right here, and I will also name any cons of each. STYLISTS!!!!!!!!

April- Awesome personality as well as great stylist. She is not one of the few product pushers at the salon. I would definitely recommend her for your whole family although she is a higher range stylist, and is therefore a little pricey.

Ramses-One of the most rad dudes in the salon as well as being amazing with curly hair especially since he has SUPER curly hair himself. He's so down to earth and will talk your head off, but also listen to your requests. He is a middle of the range price.

Ruby-Store manager and has a great personality. She has tattoos and that obviousy makes her cool =] She is super nice and knows what she's doing. She used to manage in Arizona where a ton of the corporate salons are located, so she knows what she's doing for sure. Antonio- AWESOME AWESOME personality. I've told him multiple times and also told other people this as well. HE IS THE MOST MARKETABLE STYLIST AT THE SALON RIGHT NOW. He has been doing hair since he was 19 in New York, but when you start at Toni&Guy, you automatically start out at the bottom. SO!!! That means that Antonio is basically giving upper level cuts for a lower level price. DO IT.

Christopher-Awesome guy. Knows what he's doing. Down to earth. Great with the ladies haha because he's in good shape and has long hair...kinda like Faubio.

Ashley-Great girl who also knows what she's doing. She gets grouchy if she doesn't havea lunch though.

COLOR TECHNICIANS!!!

Levi-He's fast, professional, listen's to what you want which is very very important when dealing with color. He's also got a great personality and what people would call a beautiful soul.

Adolf-He's about the same level of experience as Levi and also very good, but not as strikingly as fast as Levi. He's also really nice and good at listening.

There are a TON of new color technicians at LAKELINE, and Alondra is an up and coming amazing color tech. Some of them are transfers from other salons out of state, and some are brand new, just out of school, but they still know what they are doing. Toni&Guy DOES have a very high standard for ALL of it's employees.

I HOPE ALL OF THIS OR SOME OF THIS WAS HELPFUL! ...OH! and Clayton is AMAZING! He's not a stylist or color tech yet, but he's great to talk to!!!

NONE OF THE STYLISTS I NAMED WILL PUSH PRODUCTS ON YOU. THERE IS ONLY ONE PRODUCT PUSHER AT THE LAKELINE SALON AND I WILL NOT NAME HIM/HER. IF A STYLIST EVER DOES THIS TO YOU, YOU SHOULD TALK TO THE STORE MANAGER OR CORPORATE ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. TO BE HONEST MOST OF THE STYLISTS AND COLOR TECHNICIANS HAVE REBELLED AGAINST THIS TECHNIQUE BECAUSE THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS AND DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THEIR BUSINESS. CORPORATE AND THE STORE MANAGERS ARE THE ONES PUTTING THE PRESSURE ON THE STYLISTS TO DO THIS. MANY OF THE EMPLOYEES HATE IT BUT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING....KEEP THESE DETAILS IN MIND

  • Pros: Great staff, friendly, Professional
  • Cons: Certain stylists are pushy with products

where's christina?

by jsf2009

Does anyone know where Christina went? She did a great job cutting fine hair. I believe she was a manager there, too. All of sudden she's gone and no one can give me a follow up as to where she went to now.

  • Pros: latest techniques/styles
  • Cons: price/poor customer service

Cig is at Salon Aqua Blue

by monicah1979

He rocks! Toni and Guy are at a total loss without him! He started cutting my hair when he worked at Toni & Guys and when he left, I settled on getting haircuts from other places, not going back to Toni and guys. Nobody cuts hair like Cig. He is pro, ninja, and incredible at what he does. I have not had one bad hair cut from him. He is so patient, precise, and makes you feel completely comfortable and unlike Toni and Guy, the staff, including receptionist, are friendly, do not have attitudes, and are not stuck up. I will follow Cig to the ends of the earth for his hair cuts and everyone else should too. Go see him at Salon Aqua Blue instead.

  • Pros: Ninja Level Haircut
  • Cons: I can't afford to have him do my hair everyday

Anyone Can Cut Hair There!

by trued

I took my 9 year old son to the Lakeline Mall -412 on 4/2/09. I am BEYOND dissappointed at the experience. A stylist by the name of Claudia cut, more like butchered, his little hair. It was a simple request of cutting his hair shorter on sides and back, blending it all in and front longer so he can comb it to the left. The end result was my son resembling a BOWL. Not only did she NOT cut his hair straight in the back but left the sides so long it covered the tip of his ears. It was ridiculous. I even requested her to fix it. Which she managed to somehow make it worse. The woman can NOT cut hair. To add insult to injury, when I went to pay, they charged me $49 for this haircut (mind you, I don't mind paying the money for a decent cut) that we could have easily gotten at Supercuts and there they probably would have cut it STRAIGHT! When I told the receptionist, a fohawked white gay male, he just rolled his eyes and said "Well, she is one of our best" OMG, if SHE's the best Toni & Guy can do, then all the standards the company is known for has gone down the gutter. She gives a professional stylist a bad name. How DARE she call herself a stylist! Where did she get her license? Has Toni & Guy stooped so low as to allow just anyone who aquires a hair cutting license to represent them? I know good hairstylists are hard to find, but she was beyond bad. It looks like something a beginning student would do, and to consider her one of the best? Top of the line? How low has Toni & Guys standards really gotten? Now I have to try to find a decent stylist to fix what Claudia messed up for $49!!! Oh, and I have pictures, feel free to email and I'll share their "Master Cutting"

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Hairstylist doesn't know how to cut hair!

Frizz Ball

by Christy8181

Beware! Bad customer service! I went for some highlights, and they stuck me in the corner and forgot about me! I had to get up and remind them that I was still there, and by then my color was over due :( Then, they didnt have time to dry my hair all the way because another appointment showed up, so they let me go with wet frizzy hair! I was not happy.

  • Pros: usually not too booked (wonder why!)
  • Cons: Snooty staff, talk about customers behind their backs, not proffessional

the great job worth the price.. I highly recommend Rasor at Cedar Park

by norma1garcia

Dear,

please google Tony and Guy and you will see what it is about. It's a professional hair salon franchise, which not only encourage but requires to its hair stylists to be updated and take frequent trainings. Therefore, they will never charge you $20 dlls the hair cut. They charge depending on the stylist experience. They start at $34, but each stylist has its own price. I have being doing my hair with two T&G stylists for years. Yes, it?s not cheap, but it worth it. It?s a world of difference in color and style compared to other salons. I would not recommend you to get your kids hair in T&G though, unless you are rich. Next time do not be shy and ask for the cost up-front, after all, we all care for our money. I highly recommend Rasor, Razor (Blade) in the Cedar Park salon. He is awesome, very professional, listens to your requests, and explains you what he is going to do. And they all guarantee their job. If you are not completely happy, they will correct it for no extra price. But like I said, ask everything upfront.

Don't go there!

by cmwx5

I asked for a little boys haircut and after much waiting--leaving and having them chase me down as I was leaving saying they were ready now....I was astonished when they charged me $49 for his haircut when he was 9 years old. When I called back the next day to check on the price of little boys haircuts she said the price was $34!! Not only was this ridiculous but they ultimately charged me to get more money since it was the end of the night---and I can only assume the manager had left.....NEVER AGAIN--I have told all my friends and am telling you now--stay away from this place!

Ask for Tan & you can't go wrong!

by treycamey

After years of long hair and not willing to pay the big bucks for a great haircut, I found Tan at Toni & Guy. He is consistently a great hairstylist! I receive a lot of compliments on my short cut and always give great reviews to Tan. Ask for Tan and you'll be pleased!

  • Pros: Tan!
  • Cons: A little pricey

I found Cig and The Cigolicious Experience/ Lose Toni and Guy

by Partygirl007

I recently called to make an appointment to get my hair cut done by my regular stylist Cig. They told me that he no longer worked there and I flipped! Who was going to do my hair? Luckily I was able to find him after I had let someone else at Toni and Guy try to dupplicate his cut...I suppose I should have learned my lesson because this is the second time my impatience has lead me to "ruins" without Cig.I. just wanted to let everyone else know that he is around because I know he has many loyal clients that would miss him tremendously if they could not follow him. He can be found at Crimson Salon at 806 west ave.(around the corner from Whole Foods) I know that it is a drive, but you get what you pay for. I have learned that high dollar is not equated to great cut,but Cig is. Cig has a heart of gold when it comes to keeping his clients happy.I will follow you to any salon, Ciggy. here is his cell for loyal clients in need 512-773-6012

  • Pros: Cig was there
  • Cons: Poor Service,Rude Management,Salon Fixtures in Poor Condition. Cig left
