Disappointed; not worth the drive

We usually eat at Titaya's or Satay but decided to try this, for a change. We had vegetarian spring rolls, curry dish with potatoes and chicken, pad thai, and Some Tom w/ beef. The spring rolls were OK but nothing special--hard to mess up anything fresh fried. All the other dishes were extremely salty, even the pad thai which was truly surprising. The large horsefly on the wall next to the lamp with the hanging dust was not pleasant either. If the food was fabulous I wouldn't have minded the no frills ambiance, but the food was really a disappointment.

• Pros: Great spicy Bloody Mary; nice owner
• Cons: Food was way too salty

Little Thailand

A small place in the middle of not much. Service is OK, although not exceptional. Decor is about what you would expect based on the outside. The food,...fantastic!!! I've tried all of their daily specials and I've liked everyone!

• Pros: THE FOOD!
• Cons: Location, Ambiance, difficulty in locating the first time.

Out near the airport in a little mobile home, is this funky, casual setting. Little Thailand has the benefit of Thai born-and-raised owner Surin Simcoe and her sister Malee, cooking up made-to-order Southeast Asian specialties from scratch. The menu is just one page, allowing for the food to be made when you order. Although slurping the potent bloody marys is a way to pass the time while waiting for your beef, broccoli and noodle combination.

Best Thai in the Austin area

Amazing warm beef salad, larb, stuffed chicken wings & lemongrass soup. Wash it down with a cold Sing-Ha and you have the perfect meal. Be sure to visit to lounge in back after dinner. They treat you like family here. Don't let the location or lack of ambiance fool you- this place is a hidden gem.
