Beautiful Swimming Hole
by dirtriderbabe at Citysearch
I love this natural pool, it is absolutley beautiful. It is one of the reasons that I love central texas. What I didn't like about this place is that if it is crowded you could wait forever before they let you in. They let one car in as one goes out, and we waited behind 7 other cars. The woman who was working the gate wasn't paying attention and she was not letting cars in as cars were going out. I'm not sure if she just didn't care or couldn't count. Either way it was very frustrating. We drove 45 minutes just to get there to wait another 30 before we got to actually get in. Its quite a hike to get to the pool itself, which is a nice hike I must say. However, if it is busy you'll run into other people trying to hike back up to their cars as your hiking down to the pool. Some parts of the hike are steep. There were many elderly couples who were upset at the kid-os just trying to have fun. This is a GREAT place to check out if you get their early in the day and not on the weekend. The pool is on a preserve so be prepared for all of the rules. Forget about taking your pooch, or any glass bottles of any kind. Oh, and the local police w(or whatever they are) will come down and start kicking people out at 5:30 even though the pool is open until 6. Like I said, go early during the week and you'll have a great time.
- Pros: Beautiful Area
- Cons: Letting one car in as one goes out
Relax and Unwind

If you are looking for a great place to relax with friends you will not find a better place to chill than this unique watering hole. You take a nice little hike down to a pool engulfed by rocks where you can swim, hang out, and have a picnic. It's a great weekend getaway.

Natural pool and waterfall beneath a rock formation and hiking area to the Pedernales River bring crowds on warm days.

Relaxing

A very relaxing place to sit and chill. Go swimming in a pool... bring a sandwich and sit on the rocks. A good place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
