Really enjoyed our stay. The staff was great! Our room overlooking the lake was very spacious and we really enjoyed the views. We will stay at the Holiday Inn the next time we are in town.
- Pros: lake view, friendly staff, great value
For more than 50 years, this hotel's familiar green sign has signaled budget-friendly lodging for families and business travelers.

In Short
Since its 1952 debut in Memphis, Tenn., Holiday Inn has become one of the most recognized hotel brands in the world. Kids rule here: Children age 19 and younger stay for free when sharing a parent's room and as many as four children per family (age 12 or younger) eat for free at hotel restaurants. Other amenities include 24-hour business services, an in-room coffeemaker, iron, hair dryer, room service, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

My wife and I spent most of the last week of July here and were pleased with our stay. We were in room 1140, and the accomodation of space and quiet was excellent. The view was great as well. The location is very close to the bohemian activity that is centered around Sixth Street and the University. The breakfast option in the room rate is a good value; you need not opt for the buffet, but you can order from the regular menu as well.
- Pros: parking, breakfast, proximty to downtown
- Cons: animals are allowed

A girlfriend of mine and I went to Austin for the weekend without a place to stay ahead of time. We wanted to be near downtown, but had a tight budget at the same time. Checked out a few places and chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Town Lake.
Felt very secure and safe and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Front desk staff is friendly and accomodating. Free parking was great and the complimentary shuttle took us to sixth street for the night and it was only a $4 cab trip back.
The only meal we had there was breakfast, had the buffet which was already tired and stale at 9am. They made us each fresh eggs to our specifications, however, which made it better. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Austin, I would definitely recommend this place.
Piece of History

It may not be the most luxurious hotel...but the staff is friendly. I have no complaints about this hotel my friends and family stay here when we travel to Austin. It seems to have history as a part of Austin and in my parents life...they meet at UT and spend many night at the Holiday Inn, we find it to be traditional and comfortable.
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Free Parking, Shuttle to 6th Street
