way better than RAIN
by caseytheclown
The door people at this establishmen did for me. First impressions are always best. I came into town this weekend with 5 friends ready to open up a tab and drink. We stood in line at Rain and the black biatch that works the door is as nasty as old milk. May i suggest a workout program to lose that belly, maybe not being so miserable? He was rude as hell. Soooo we walked into Oilcans and it was a world difference. Thank you for welcoming everyone.
- Pros: location, gay
- Cons: none

For the wannabes and thinktheyares
by wbohrer
Caters to the jcrew set. The regulars certainly think it's the best place to go. Its not the place to be if you are not, um how shall we say... fabulous, or at least *think* you are. If you're simply average, and/or not a clone, this place will try hard to make you feel like a troll.
- Pros: great location, not a dump
- Cons: the crowd, no parking
Why the hell not?
by hobbes93
This is the place to go to just relax and hang out with some friends during HH or early on a weekend. The bartenders are all very cool, especially Bobby Cook! If you can make it during the week late-night, definitely get to know the other bartenders working 'cause it will be easier to be seen on those packed weekends if they recognize you. All of the patio staff, regardless of what day, are great. There is also a great mix of people here, from twinks to daddys, drag queens to flaming queens, butch to b*tch.
- Pros: Great drinks and music
- Cons: Like all things downtown, PARKING!!

- Pros: Fantastic Music
- Cons: I can't think of any
Best Times In Austin
by billyboyaustin
OIlcan Harry's has really done a great job creating a fun place to hang out. The new owners and managers listen to their customers and the bar looks awesome. I am there every Thursday and Friday, and they never let me down.
- Pros: Nicest bartenders in the city. Best Friday Happy Hour
- Cons: Parking
Best gay club on fourth street
by mhat
Oilcans has consistently entertained the metrosexual and gay crowd..newly remodeled under new ownership with New Orleans premier former GM of Oz , Tommy Elias, now bringing the "good times" to Oilcan Harry's . The Manwatch dancers featured at Oz also dance their way to Austin to Oilcans Now..Come & enjoy..I do ..ask for Dane..great bartender
- Pros: Tommy Elias
- Cons: parking on busy nights
a great place to party. always a good time.
by nicepeoplewin
Oilcan Harrys is a wonderful place to party and everyone knows it. They know what they are doing and how to do it. I read a nasty review here about the dancers. Not true. It dosent take a rocket scientist to know who it is and what his motovation is. (Joseph H.) He wants to take over the booking business of dances there and he thinks he is clever by criticizing the current agent.
There is no problem with this club, the dancers, the dj, it rocks, management and all. Thanks Oilcan Harry's for always a good time.
- Pros: Hot dancers help get the crowd going
- Cons: none
Love Tommy!
by jasonru1
The bar is great. Tommy is wonderful. Jorge is a mess and not in a good way. The place is fun, but the dancers are terrible. They should fire the fat lady who books them. They need fresh meat!
- Pros: Tommy!
- Cons: Fat manwatch lady is a bother and talks too much. People hate her
An upscale gay bar full of pretty boys and men.

In Short
Located in the Warehouse District, Harry's has a quiet bar on one side and a small dance floor with mirrored balls on the other. There's a New Orleans-style patio in back. The crowd consists mostly of well-dressed 20- to 30-somethings. Almost everyone cuts a rug on the weekend. Almost every night has a theme or special, such as $5 chicken or steak meals on Thursdays and a karaoke and gong show on Mondays.
