Even though I am the recipient of the gift, my husband had nothing but good things to say about Kruger's. I asked him about how he felt about Mr. Kruger and the diamond ( I didn't want him to feel pressured)-----He felt the same about both....He said Mr. Kruger was so great about giving him so many options in his choice of diamonds and NEVER made him feel pressured to buy. The diamond was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, and my husband said he felt the same (since Kruger's provides the best of every option)... I would recommend this place to every new lifetime couple---Kruger only deals with lifetimes, as are his words, character, integrity, and his jewelry.

Pros: Ecellent customer service

Bill and co made every effort to make the purchase and delivery of my girlfriend's engagement ring enjoyable and efficient. We had a slight mix-up with delivery location (my fault) and Bill worked day and night while I was snowboarding to fix the problem and get me the goods I needed that night. Oh, and the ring gets major compliments everywhere we go - very unique designs from a long term jeweler. thanks, guys!

I was drawn to Kruger's because of its excellent reputation. My heirloom diamonds couldn't be trusted with just anyone. I went in, explained what I wanted, drew the design myself on the spot and was met with enthusiasm and cooperation. Three months later (a little longer than I'd anticipated, but it was worth the wait), I got a custom-made ring that exceeded my expectations. The lady who worked with me, Jennifer, was very energetic, friendly and helpful. We had a miscommunication about pricing at one point, but they worked with me to get the jewelry into my price range, closer to the original estimate. I'm very pleased with the jewelry and the constant, open communication from them, from beginning to end.

I wandered down to Kruger's on my lunch break to start the search for an engagement ring. I was pretty sure they were a local company but was thrilled when the first person to introduce themselves to me was David Kruger. He was very friendly and helpfu.l Since I knew nothing about diamonds he gave me a 20 minute lesson on buying jewels and put up with my dumb questions. After several months and a few trips to other jewelers I came back to Kruger's. Now that I had a better idea of what I wanted and what I could afford David found a great ring and a great stone. I made several trips back to the store as I was making my decision. After a few trips the whole staff knew my name and they even put up with me bringing some ladies from the offce to get their opinion. The sticker price on that ring would have been well outside of my price range but he said if I were willing to come up a bit, he could come down a bunch. So we had a deal. It was over all a great experience. I have nothing but good things to say about Kruger's and David himself. The only thing I would change is to have mentioned fishing to him earlier. He's quite the avid fisherman and has plenty of stories to share. Swap a few stories or share your fishing hole and you might get an even better deal!

Pros: Personal Service, Austin Company and Good Prices

I just got my engagement ring from Kruger's and cannot say enough about the great selection, customer service, etc. I went into Kruger's based on recommendations I read here and on Yelp. I was only browsing engagement ring styles but came out with much more. I was greeted promptly, and Anna, my salesperson was happy to help. She showed me all of the rings I was interested in (even though I took a lot of time and would not be making a purchase that day), she made suggestions about styles that I might like and helped me find something within my boyfriend's budget. She wrote down everything I had looked at so when my boyfriend went back to have a look for himself, he would know which rings I liked and which rings were within his price range. When I found a ring I loved, with a few alterations, Anna contacted the ring designer and helped me get the exact ring I wanted (size, stone, metal, etc). And now that I'm engaged, I will definitely go back to pick out wedding bands. Thank you Anna and Kruger's!

My husband and I bought my engagement ring and both of our wedding bands at Kruger's and it was a great experience from start to finish. David helped me pick out the most beautiful and unique 3-stone diamond engagement ring, and Bill helped us pick out, order, and deliver our beautiful wedding bands. Even though I ordered my wedding band without much time to spare, Bill made sure that it got to us in time for the ceremony. His friendliness and prompt service were really appreciated. Thanks, Krugers!

The first thing that impressed me with Kruger's that the owner David dealt with me himself. The second thing that impressed me was he told me the three month salary guideline for an engagement ring is marketing BS to encourage young couples to spend more than they need to. I'm summarizing the conversation but the point is to put together a beautiful ring, with good proportions and appropriate for the personality of the wearer. Third, he took the time to explain diamonds to me, where the breaks are, and the diminishing returns as far as cut, color, and clarity as far as what the eye perceives. He then gave me a few options, explained the desirability versus cost of each gem. He never tried to upsale me, if anything I was the one trying to upsell my fiance, not Mr. Kruger. The last thing that impressed me was that when my finance requested white gold, David recommended a superior product for the same price, palladium. White gold, it turn out, is just gold plated with rhodium which wears off and you have to replate it constantly. Palladium is a platinum alloy, looks identical and is the same price, and doesn't suffer from the maintenance headache. The ring really is beautiful, and I would and could have spent much more on the one I love. I went to comparison shop at a few large chain jewelry stores and found out I would have paid much more for a comparable piece. As it is, she's thrilled, and I'll be Mr. Kruger's customer from now on.

Pros: Great customer service, good deal, beautiful product, buy from an Austin local retailer.

Cons: None as far as my experience.

Kruger's is the absolute best place in Austin to shop for fine jewelry. I should know. I recently was engaged to my sweetheart of 4 1/2 years... While shopping for "the ring" I looked at about ten different shops in Austin from North to South. There were some decent places that I went to but it just didnt feel right. Once place would have great prices on diamonds but lower quality, some places had great settings but poor customer services, I just couldnt find the right place to invest my future in. I walked in to Krugers a couple weeks ago as a last resort not expecting to find anything special. When I walked in the doors I got this feeling that I was at home. I was greeted by Bill who had help my finace find some settings that she loved. Bill was incredible. The best customer service that I have ever recieved by anybody. He was very understanding of my situation and did EVERYTHING in his power to make this special moment happen for us. I cant say enough about the experience I had at Krugers. I recommend this place as a MUST SEE five star stop on your road to fine jewelry. P.S. Say hello to the house cat that lounges around in the store!!

Pros: Accessible Parking, Easy Location

Cons: NONE

I went in Saturday morning to buy an engagement ring. Later that same evening my proposal was accepted and my fiancee had a ring she loves. The service was great. Anna Talley made the experience painless and enjoyable. I was also greeted and welcomed by David Kruger himself. They worked within my budget to get me a beautiful ring. They were even able to put my selected diamond into the setting I wanted the same day. I went to Kruger's because I prefer to shop at locally owned businesses. My experience confirmed I made the right choice.

Pros: Customer service

Cons: Parking and hours
