Best Colorist In Town
by austinblondie at Citysearch
As we all know...finding the perfect color combination for your hair can be a horrific process. After experimenting w/ several stylists at different salons in Austin, I have finally found the perfect one. I just had my second visit with Sarah Horne, and every time I leave with my hair not only looking great but feeling healthy. She goes the extra mile to make sure the products don't damage my hair and the color lasts. She is extremely knowledgeable and refreshingly candid with her opinions about various hair styles and color combinations. Good conversation and not over the top expensive as can be the case with stylists of her ability. If you too are tired of damaging your hair and not getting the color you want...go see Sarah!
- Pros: parking, staff
- Cons: atmosphere
Thank you, Aziz

Keith transformed my hum drum, dreary blonde bob into a firey red, fun fabulous 'do. He spent time consulting with me to ensure that this was indeed what I wanted, then proceeded to make my dreams of a much more modern look come true. He also explained how he was styling my hair as he did it so that I could recreate my new look at home.
I have also received massage from Virginia, who combines a wide variety of techniques in her work to give a truly remarkable massage.
Anther service I took advantage of was the salt glow- seaweed wrap combo. These are two treatments often over looked by spa goers, but they are so worth it. My skin was silky soft from the exfoliation, and I fell asleep during the wrap.
I can't wait to give gift certificate to my friends, and to try the other services there. Maybe a facial, or the Margarita pedicure.
- Pros: Talented, knowledgeable, friendly staff
Can I just live here?

Aziz staff are so warm and friendly and truly caring about the quality of your experience with them. The hair, nail, skin and massage services are outstanding. It's so nice to have everything you want or need to feel special in one place. I've been coming here for years, and it just gets better ;-)
- Pros: has everything needed for a day of pampering!
- Cons: sooner or later, you have to leave
Love my hair - Highly recommend Aimee
by yvette02 at Citysearch
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I just left from getting my hair cut and dyed by Aimee and could not be happier. The facility is nice, parking was easy, and the staff was really nice. I got a lunchtime appointment on short notice (called yesterday and got an appt today).
Aimee was so sweet - she's only been there a short time, but has been doing hair for like 20 years, so she knows her stuff. She involved me in picking out my hair color and my cut - and even explained to me how to style it different ways and how to take care of the cut. I've *never* had anyone make me feel like I was their only customer the way she did, and I've been to some of the pricier salons in town (and in other cities).
It was way affordable and definitely worth it!! Highly recommended!!
- Pros: Affordable, quality cut/color, stylist was super nice

New hair stylist from Dallas
by tompettyrocks at Citysearch
I just got an appointment with a great stylist new to Austin...REGAN is at the SOUTH salon. I do a lot of treatments on my hair, chi straightener, color, dry & flat iron daily so needless to say my hair was a little damaged...she put this awesome conditioner on it that made it so healthy looking. She took her time to ask me what I wanted....btw that doesn't always happen....the cut was great but the color was so cool...it was almost like I hade 2 colors in one!! lots of depth...thanks Regan...I've had so many compliments....welcome to Austin!!!
- Pros: 7 years experience w/ cut & color
- Cons: None..or I wouldn't be writing this review!

REGAN IS MY NEW HERO!
by km1454 at Citysearch
My hairstylist search ended as soon as I stepped foot into Aziz Salon (South) and took a seat in Regan's chair! After having my hair butchered by a previous stylist I was a little hesitant to try another new person, but Regan EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I left her chair with a fabulous new hairstyle. She is not only amazing at restyling and fixing horrid haircuts from past stylists, but she is an expert at color. I am now a loyal client to Regan and will never cheat on my stylist again!
- Pros: Staff and Atmosphere!
- Cons: none

LOVE my hair!
by kwikster at Citysearch
So, I went in for a highlight, a couple of months ago-scared because I have such thin, fine hair, and came out AMAZED at the end result...Aimee was who I saw. She apparently is new THERE, but has been doing hair for 20 years, and my color is PHENOMENAL!! (and I am happy to report that none fell out!) Well, a couple of weeks later, after much debate within myself, I decided to come back in for a haircut-love it! Aimee was booked that day, and if I didn't do it THAT DAY, I was going to chicken out, so I saw Angela. This is probably the best I have looked in a really long time, and FOR SURE the best hair I've ever had!
- Pros: complementary drinks, relaxing, great staff
- Cons: none that I can think of

My stylist search stopped with David Tienda
by mclevin at Citysearch
I like to come off as a guy who doesn't care too much about his hair, but my wife and a few other people on this planet no better. Up until discovering David Tienda at Aziz (South location, on Brodie), I was a wanderer -- each month searching for a new stylist whom I didn't want to pop in the throat for f-ing up my locks. Let me tell you, I got around.
David not only listens carefully and does what you tell him to do with your hair, he makes great suggestions based on your hair type, face shape, zodiac sign, social security number, what have you. He's a wizard with the scissors and a seer with the shears. He's a great conversationalist, too -- able to wax eloquent and exhibit wit without losing focus on the quaff he's cutting.
He's like a stylist ninja, with personality and humor.
Seriously, the dude's talented, and a good guy. Give him a shot -- you won't be sorry.
- Pros: Mr. T, no uppity staff, ample parking (huge plaza lot)
- Cons: nada

David is an AWESOME stylist/colorist!

David Tienda is an awesome sylist/colorist. I have been a client of his for over 7 years. I have always let him have creative reign with my hair. I never know what he will do. This way I always get to try new styles. I have NEVER been disappointed. My hair has been long, short, and in between. It has been every color imaginable. He is very artistic and is able to create the perfect style and color for each individual. I don't even mind driving 200 miles from San Angelo to see him! He is well worth it.
- Pros: David, parking, staff
- Cons: ??? none to list

Not Impressed
by fieryembers at Citysearch
My friend and I decided to forgo our usual pedicure place because of the special that Aziz has going on right now.
Well we were not impressed. The massage/spa chairs are old and outdated. We opted for the foot facial instead of the spa pedicure because of the extra thirty minutes that would be added. 90 mins as opposed to just 60.
Not sure if the girls had a place to go-but they zoomed through our pedicures. We finished the pedicure at about 58 minutes. It wasn't even an hour. When I asked the girl about it-she said that the pedicure was usually around an hour and fifteen minutes and an hour and thirty IF you have calloused feet.
So because of my regular pedicures-I don't get the full benefit of a 90 min pedicure? The girls talked amongst themselves for the majority of the time they were doing our feet. When we tried to engage them in conversation they were more interested in talking to each other. I have had better service at places that charged the same price as Aziz or less. The customer service leaves something to be desired.
My micro derm was just ok-it was only about 15 mins and I feel like I had to ask the questions as opposed to them telling me about the benefits. I feel like they just wanted me to buy a series of treatments instead of telling me WHY it would work for me.
This place isn't really a spa-more like a salon that tries to do too much.
'
- Pros: 2 fo 99 special going on
- Cons: rushed and hurried services.
