Lost item - No remorse!
by rubyjohumphreys
A week ago, my husband surprised me with a honeymoon trip. We decided to take the outfits we wore at our rehearsal dinner to a same day dry cleaning service so we could wear them in Cabo. All seemed well until I pulled out my $700 dress and noticed the center stone piece missing. It had remained in the bag from the cleaners until that point. I assumed they lost it and called immediately to check. Upon returning to Austin, I took the dress to Anthony's so they could see what they were looking for (the services are provided onsite). After 10 minutes of searching, they came back and told me the ruby stone was in fact on the dress when it left their facility and she even had a witness who also had seen it. They remembered talking about how pretty the dress was and the amazing stone in the middle. Had I checked my car or looked for it? Really? I didn't need a witness, rather some type of apology or accommodation or acknowledgement that they lost the stone and essentially ruined a dress that had a lot of meaning to me would have been nice. Nothing, no guilt there at all. If I lost it, so be it. But I have a hard time believing it would fall off a dress in a bag tied at the bottom. I've been the Anthony's for the first and last time. Zero customer service.
- Pros: none
- Cons: poor customer service, no accountability, rude
Ridiculously expensive

I don't get this place. Maybe there's some magic pixie dust they use to clean clothes, but it is crazy expensive. And my experience was consistent with that of the other reviewers on this site. I had a problem with my order and the staff was rude and combattive. I will not be returning, even though I live a short walk from there.
Know before you go-- they charge $3.50 to launder a men's shirt!
- Pros: Great way to reduce the thickness of your wallet
- Cons: No money left to buy food
If you can afford for them to lose your clothes, they do a great job cleaning

Anthony's consistently does a wonderful job of cleaning clothing but, they are horrible in customer service if ANYTHING goes wrong. I have over the past 2 years had many items misplaced and recently about $400 worth of clothing completely lost. Unless you want to fight them, not only will they not reimburse you, but they won't even apologize. This has been an issue for myself & another colleague at my office. They do not count items coming in nor provide you with a receipt (I suppose this is so they can lose them without any paper trail). The staff (including Charlotte, the owner) are typically not friendly. Again, great cleaners but I can't afford to lose my clothing and don't want to deal with unpleasant people anymore.
- Pros: Do great job of cleaning clothing but you may never get the clothing back
- Cons: Won't be accountable when they lose your clothing (and are expensive)
Overpriced, Poor Quality, Bad Customer Service

I've been back to Anthony's a couple of times based on reputation as one of the best dry cleaners, but I'm not sure what people see in this place. The first time I was there, they misplaced my clothing. The second time I was there they gave me a pair of pants back "lightly starched" with the legs welded together....obviously over starched...they denied it. Then they tried to get a stain out of a sweater and only made it worse. It looked like they soaked it in chemicals and then ran it through a press, completely streaked. Lastly, they got oil on my good coat.
When I brought them back in...service was rude and tried to blame everything on me.
I will never go back there again.
- Pros: none
- Cons: everthing about it
I wouldn't trust fine clothing to be cleaned anywhere else
by mrsh50
I've taken my clothes to a few other cleaners in town. After a few visits, my clothes look worn or aren't cleaned thoroughly. Anthony's has consistently cleaned the finest clothes I have multiple times and they look brand new every time I pick them up.
- Pros: Can be trusted with nice clothes
- Cons: More expensive than others
Too pricey

Moved here from Dallas, TX. Dropped off wash and fold and shirts. Laundry was $150. Shirts were $120. I was an idiot for not asking the price. I wasn't expecting to lose an arm and a leg however. They did not give me back my laundry basked, and we have several articles of clothing that cannot be found. This place is unduly expensive for me.
