I am a former Radio City Rockette and Broadway Dancer. After leaving Broadway (NYC) and teaching dance and fitness for many years I changed careers. I mention this simply to present my credentials in rating Tony Kelly and Ironsmith. I train with Tony weekly, though I am now in my 60's he has gotten me back into a "dancers body" I have been working with Ironsmith for more than 5 years. If you are looking for a "safe" yet full body strenghening, stretching and cardio trainer, I highly recommend Ironsmith. I believe I am very qualified to make this recommendation. If Tony should see this...Thank you Tony for giving me the energy level I have today.

Pros: wants to know limitations before construction a program

I like IronSmith because of its lack of attitude. It is a place to go if you want to get healthy. I have lost wieght, toned my body and feel better about myself. After dozens of attempts to maintain a healthy lifestyle for more than a few months, IronSmith provided the support I needed to maintain my new healthy lifestyle now going on two years. THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!

Pros: No Attitude, Very Successful and Caring

This is the best gym to go to in Austin for serious fitness. If you're looking for the spandex meat market scene, go elsewhere. However if you are really trying to get in shape and are committed to doing so, this is the place you should be working out. Very friendly trainers, great location and never a crowd.

Pros: Friendly staff, Never crowded, Great Location

Cons: Old facilities

I visited IronSmith based on a claim, from their website, that they offered Cardio Kickboxing. When I asked the staff member about it, he basically told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Naturally, I went home and returned with copies from their website which states that they offer CARDIO KICKBOXING. After two trips, he didn't even bother to offer any other services! He let a potential customer leave disappointed--twice! He even asked, "How did you choose us, based on location?" Ugh! This guy obviously thought I was some kind a mindless aerobics broad and not the marathon finisher that I am! He took one look at me and determined that I was not IronSmith material. Finally, the website states, "we will listen to your ideas, find out what's important to you..." Ha! I went, twice, and didn't get any help at all! Very disappointing!
