They are too pricey. Period. Also, I had one of the reps accually hang up on me when I wanted to order a window pane over the phone. I am a window company, I know what I need and this guy would not listen to me. I will go anywhere but Binswanger from now on.
Pros: they are fast when you go in
Cons: price, customer service skills, attitude.

I needed a frameless shower door but knew nothing about how to go about it. I found binswanger glass on s.lamar through the "austinshowerdoors" website. Great showroom and knowledgeable salespeople. The installers were on time and cleaned up after themselves. All in all a smooth experience. Even got a coupon worth 10% off and a free can of glass cleaner that the lady at the counter slipped me AFTER I received my quote. Laid-back south austin folk. They even fed me while I was there.
Pros: Great front office staff/service/free stuff

I had my windshield replaced here for $100.00 more than I was quoted at other shops. I wanted a good job so I didn't mind paying for it. The work was very sloppy-4 inch long 2 inch wide Black glue clumps all around the inside windshield and they did a horrible job with my trim. They charged me for 3 hrs labor but only had the windshield for 1 hr. before I picked my truck. They also installed the wrong color. Don't go here.

I took my car in to get my windshield replaced, and my windshield leaked after that. I took it back several times, and they did not fix it claiming that they could not find the leak (even though the inside carpet as soaked from rain leaking into the passenger compartement). I'll never take another vehicle to this place again - I'm taking it to another body shop to see if I can find a competent mechanic to fix the problem.
Pros: It's a full service shop
Cons: no follow through

I had to replace the glass in my front door which was broken while I was on vacation. It took Binswanger over one and a half weeks to come out to my condo to measure the glass and order the correct size. I was told it would be a week after the measurements when my glass would come in from Houston & they could install it. Over three weeks went by and they never once called me to update me. I had to hassel them and finally after three weeks they admitted that my order was lost and they would have to come BACK OUT and measure again. I thought they were kidding! All of the staff that I talked to on the phone were totally incompetent and rude. I ended up going with ACE glass and they did it in about a week. All in all I was completely disappointed and I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Pros: Great location on S. Lamar
Cons: Everything else is bad about them!

They replaced a window that was fogging, but unfortunately they special ordered the wrong tint on the window. It was a blue tint ... should have been a green tint to match the adjacent window (which was not replaced). I didn't notice it for a month or so (until I put down the white inside shades which made the contrast quite apparent). I called them up and they got the replacement green-tint window ordered and came out and installed it. Very professional job ... no trying to weasle out of redoing it or anything. Very satisfied with them and would use them again in a heartbeat!
