Magnolia is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. The food is **VERY** reasonably priced and the service is pretty good too. There is a lot of selection of food to choose from.

Pros: great food, Authentic Austin Experience, great location by So-Co Strip, good variety of food

Cons: parking can be difficult, sometimes a wait, service can be so-so at times

I try to eat healthy and they had options for me which was a pro, I had steamed veggies and mushroom soup which was very good. I also love their omlettes. my friend got an ensalada which had a huge pool of unappatizing grease in it but tasted good. Love the austin atmosphere, casual and layed back. Can get crowded in morning and so on, but thats normal.

Pros: good variety, good pancakes

Cons: greasy ensaladas, crowded at times

Close to two thirds of the plate (granted it wasn’t a huge plate) was covered in Migas and it wasn’t a thin layer, the small area of plate that was unclaimed by Migas was home to a spot of black beans (more Migas than beans), and when I lifted the tortillas off of the plate I found that hiding beneath the tortillas were –gasp- Migas! The plate was layed out properly and as for the Migas, well, they also looked correct. A golden mound of eggs, visibly laced with big chunks of tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and jalapenos, all scrambled together and then topped with a thick layer of cheese which was quickly melting atop the Migas. The Magnolia Migas looked good, but as the old adage goes you can’t judge a book by the other book that you actually thought you were buying only to realize too late that you purchased the incorrect book (or something like that). Thus I reasoned that I should actually eat the Magnolia Migas in order to determine if they were any good, and they were. The quality of the eggs was high, though melted over the top there was still enough cheese to make the majority of bites cheesy, and the veggie chunks were crisp, fresh and plentiful. The jalapenos within the Migas were especially good as they added a well spaced, but definitely needed, kick to the dish . Furthermore the quantity of Migas was sufficient to be genuinely satisfying, and even though there is no such thing as enough Migas, the ones served at Magnolia left me momentarily sated. They were good, I’d give them a…oh wait…I’m forgetting something again: tortilla chips. My eyes and my taste buds were clearly having a disagreement because my eyes were sending a message to my brain that there were tortilla chips present but my taste buds were negating that very same message. I love magnolia! The artichoke dip is to die and I always have to have it! My favorite is the Magnolia omelet! The veggies are always super fresh! The gingerbread pancakes are great as well! If you like Mimosas you will love the magmosa, which is cranberry juice instead of orange juice. That is served on the weekends during brunch. There is usually a wait but i have never waited for more than 30 min plus you can shop next door at Prima Dora while you wait. Parking can be tight sometimes but you can park at Prima Dora too.

Pros: Great Fresh Food, It's very "Austin"

Cons: Parking and sometimes the wait (but it's worth it)

Great food at totally decent prices. The wait staff seems to have cut the attitude although most of them could still use a shower. The peanut butter pie is to die for!

Delicious food at a great price. I usually never eat enchiladas in restaurants b/c they taste like plastic compared to my mom's, but the Magnolia Enchiladas are great!!!!

This is the best breakfast place in Austin. We had a party of 7 and were seated promptly (go early on a Saturday, we went at 8:45 and just got in). The portions are huge. The gingerbread pancakes were fantastic. I took the lemon cream sauce from my Magnolia omlette (that was a strange sauce to put on an omelette, I recommend you get it on the side) and poured it all over the ginger pancakes, it was terrific. Definitely order the omlette with the short stack, it is the best value for the money. My sister ordered french toast. It was 6 pieces of thin bread (she prefers it that way instead of Texas toast). It was not overly battered and grilled perfectly. If you like the taste of cornbread, you would enjoy the cornmeal pancakes. My nephew ordered this and was delighted. Chocolate Chip and Blueberry pancakes were also ordered in our party. Their pancake batter is definitely homemade. The pancakes were huge, flapping over the plate and not in "perfect" circles. It was fluffy and tasty. I ordered pico for my omlette when I found the lemon cream sauce to funky for the omlette. The pico was also homemade with large chunks of ripe tomatoes. Definitely made the omlette tastier. They also did not skimp on the portions. The bonus is if you take your receipt next door to their funky gift shop the prima dora, you will get a 10% discount. We bought a lot of unusual Christmas gifts for the family. We definitely will go here next time we were in town.

Pros: homemade food in fun and funky atmosphere. Great for groups or families.

Cons: parking could be a problem on the weekends if you don't get there early for breakfast

We were only in Austin for 41 hours and we ate here twice!! The food was awesome! The buttermilk pancakes are to die for!

I gave this place many chances just b/c this place has a great reputation. Im cluless how they actully have a good reputation. I dont know about anyone else but I like my food hot. I have never had a hot plate at this place. Thier Pancakes are huge, but im not 12 so im not going to get too excited over it. How can you mess up on pancakes? Aunt Jemima + water = awesome pancakes. There was nothing compared to my last visti w/ Chicken enchiladas, ( which was on thier ' Specials Menu") I experienced the worst tex-mex taste i have ever had! A flour tortilla and grilled chicken wrap up with some warm sause doesnt make it an enchilada. lets start by cooking the tortilla, Since when did you use flour anyway? I allways thought you used corn of some type. I dont know how to make an enchilada, so thats somthing Magnolia and I have in common... BURN!

Pros: Your " Kool " if you eat here...

Cons: Attitude, atmosphere... everything

Went here for breakfast on a friday during the holidays. You could barely move your chair without bumping into someone. Food was average and the staff was great, friendly funny, accomodating.

Pros: Great staff

Cons: Cramped, long wait
