Personal service in a historic B&B.

The Scene
Innkeepers Kathleen Mooney and Jim Hallinan have created the perfect environment in which to unwind. This New Orleans-style home lazes beneath majestic oak trees. Wide porches provide a lovely setting for an afternoon of leisurely reading. Energetic guests can easily stroll to Town Lake or downtown.
The Details
The inn offers a choice of three charming guest rooms and two cozy bungalows. Visitors who enjoy the ambience of a lodge might opt for the Lydia Marguerite Room in the main house. Its four-poster mahogany bed and dark green walls set a rustic, elegant tone. The Harbour Room and Caroline's Room have a more airy feel. If you're traveling with a small group, chances are you will prefer one of the private bungalows. Each features one bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room.
Very Rude
by sarah_beara23
I looked into this place because it is truly a beautiful place on the outside. The caretakers were very rude. They didnt bother to even introduce themselves to me and my fiance on the open house night. So we wandered around by ourselves knowing no history. When we finally spoke w/ the caretaker she just handed us a pamphlet and rushed through our questions.
I would say the landscape is the only nice thing about this place. To me being young in my 20's the rooms seemed to antique. Pictures of ladies in every room makes you think it's haunted. Parlor room was spooky as well. The only room i liked was the blues room.
Of course i didnt stay but my first impression was terrible
If you plan on having any type of function, skip this place. You can find another place that will invest their time in you.
- Pros: LAndscaping
- Cons: rude service, Poor view
Lovely

In the hustle and bustle of downtown is this charming bed & breakfast. The grounds are gorgeous. A perfect place to stay for business, honeymoons, or that special get-away.
Never stay @ a hotel chain in Austin!
by amandaton
This is a great place to stay if you ever have/want to visit Austin. I've stayed there twice already and will be there next weekend. The owner is very very sweet. Remember, it is austin! So, everything is pretty laid back. 3 minutes from downtown. Just a taxi away from 6th street. Great breakfast in the morning to get you going! She has nice mountain bikes you can borrow to paddle downtown or along the river. I will never stay at a corporate hotel in Austin again!
- Pros: cozy rooms, breakfast, location
A little Crescent City Romance in Austin
by nukembritt
I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful little place the night my fiance proposed. The house is very elegant and classy. The room we stayed in was light and airy with a huge private bathroom and a lovely patio and garden overlooking the city. If you're looking to feel pampered, consider staying here. The owner is an absolute doll as well.
