The salon itself has a great atmosphere. The people there are down to earth and friendly. Ray Ramos has been my hair stylist for 3 years now and never had a complaint. Any hair style you want he can do. You will leave the salon with nice hair and no complaints.

I had a great experience at Hairy Situations Salon yesterday! I have problem hair (super fine but thick, thick, thick) and have always had a hard time finding someone that can work with it. Rachel was able make it look great and let me know what products would work best for what I want. Highly recommended.

Anne Shackleford raises the bar

I was first recommended to see Anne back NINE years ago. She fixed my awful coloring and created a beautiful color for me and will not steer me in a wrong direction. I'll ask her for some colors or styles that interest me, and she will listen and coach me on what would be best for my face shape and skin tone. Each year we change up the style ,and I'm always happy. With this LONG and THICK hair I don't trust anyone else! She can turn my lion's mane into a smooth and silky designer look. I always marvel at her work. I've faithfully followed her for all these years, and now she's even closer to me....check her out at Fringe Salon.

Johanna at Hairy Situations

I've been going to Johanna for over a year and I must say that I always leave more than satisfied. I began going to her after cutting my hair very short and damaging it with repeat coloring. It was completely fired and over-processed but thanks to Johanna, my hair is healthy and growing beautifully. She respects my wants and opinions while always keeping the health of my hair in mind. I completely trust her. I think she's AMAZING and would recommend her to anyone. Not only was Johnanna great but the receptionist were great as well. I have a terrible habit of forgetting my appointment times and really appreciated the appointment reminder I received from the receptionist the night before. They were really sweet and very attentive.

Great location, good atmosphere, ok haircuts and poor service.

A close friend of mine referred me to Hairy Situations. At first I was skeptical, as I usually am when I first step foot into a new salon and entrust a stranger with my hair.

The first experience wasn?t too bad, the stylist was fun and friendly. My haircut was not what I was expecting (way too short), but the overall experience was ?alright.?

I ventured back into Hairy Situations trying out various stylists, hoping to find ?my new stylist.? Most of the men?s cuts I received were tolerable, except for a young blonde girl who butchered my hair with thinning shears.

My last and final trip to Hairy Situations did not even end with a tragic haircut. I called in, spoke to a receptionist and set an appointment with Heather. Approximately 25 minutes later, I received a phone call asking if I could come in 15 minutes earlier. I thought, ?Great I could use the extra 15 minutes to run a few errands.? So I entered the time of the appointment into my phone, set a reminder and went on with my day.

I showed up for my hair appointment 20 minutes early, only to find out that the receptionist ?accidentally? told me 5:45pm instead of 4:45pm. The receptionist spoke with Heather about what had happened. Heather declined to set aside 30 minutes out of her day to correct the receptionist?s error.

I was supposed to be at an event at 7:00pm, but I was forced to be late, because I had to find a decent salon in Austin that was still open. I called around and ended up at Topaz Salon, where I found a great stylist.

I would follow Anne to the ends of the earth, she's that great! Color, style, the works! Fortunately for all of us she's not going that far. At Fringe the parking will be much better and the distance is about the same. Fringe is a good move for her.
