I have been looking for a good mechanic for 4 years in Austin that I could trust. In the last two months, I have had to take my car in twice and both times I was super impressed! They didn't give me a huge list of things that they would like to fix when all of the other places that I took it to had. The price is always cheaper than their quote, they are very nice, fast, and have done a good job both times. I have had the car for 3 years and never had to do work on it until the last two months and they surpassed my expectations both times. They even gave me a free oil change! I highly recommend Ben White Automotive!! I will not go anywhere else.

used to have private mechanic, this is the best alternative anywhere, noticed radiator leak on way to work, stopped here and for nominal fee they diagnosed problem, called me promptly to discuss before they did anything, had car back before end of day and without having to make appointment - I trust these guys anytime here on out this is where I go for car repair and ease of mind.

They diagnosed my problem (headlamp relay) and then replaced the faulty part with same day service. Granted, it's a pretty quick problem to solve, but they were also very courteous both in person and on the phone. I've not had much repair work done lately so I can't really speak as to whether or not the price was competitive for the work done, but I can't complain about the service.

These people know their business. I took my Ford SUV there yesterday for an all wheels complete brake repaire. Up front, they told me what it would cost and when it would be ready. They missed on the ready time by five minutes! I will go only there the next time I need anything repaired on my auto.

In for a minor repair (battery), therefore not a full view of the scope of service - but I was in quickly and out under time estimate without being hassled to buy extra parts or perform unnecessary repairs - much appreciated. Word of advice - arrainge a ride if at all possible. Although the waiting room is clean, comfortable, and comes with a nostalgic dual-knobed, late 70's style TV - it only gets FOX so....maybe bring a book. I'm a happy customer and will be back!

This question almost always comes up in a conversation, do you know a good mechanic? Well not only did I find a good mechanic but an honest one. I brought my Taurus in because I noticed a " very slight hesitation" in the engine. I believe in fixing before it breaks. The diagnostic equipment couldn't actually pinpoint the cause because it was that slight. But the mechanic suspected it was one of the ignition coils starting to get weak. Most shops in my experience ( I've got 45 yrs owning and driving cars) would have recommended shotgunning the repair and replace all the coils and plugs in hope of getting the right one. Not these guys. Their advice was to live with it until it starts to slowly break down which could be another thirty thousand miles down the road. He said I would notice the difference and then we'll replace just that one. I don't know if I should mention this because I don't want to get Kevin in trouble but they wouldn't accept any payment for the time and work " cause we didn't fix anything" Do I have an answer to that age old question now? You betcha. Bob Black 08/27/08 once again they came through with aces. AC compressor went out. They fixed it up right away. FYI Ben White does warranty work for Car Max and a lot faster.

Very trustworthy. They could have charged me a lot more, but instead tried a cheaper way of fixing my car and it worked! They not only fixed a current problem on my car they took a look at everything else that was wrong on my car and gave me an estimate on what else needs to be worked on. I am definitely a customer of theirs for life!

I came in thinking that I needed a new tire for sure, as I had been losing air in my tire and another tire store had already looked at it previously. Instead of just agreeing with me, because it could have been possible that I may need a new tire (and I wouldn't have known any better), they called me and told me that they just patched it after finding a nail in my tire and sent me on my way with ZERO money out of pocket!
