Based on the great reviews here, I decided to try Ben White Automotive last week for my 30k mile service. They never did any work on my car, and I won't be back. I dropped my car off the night before and left my keys and work request in the drop box. I wanted to be one of the first in line when they opened at 8am. By noon, nobody from the shop had called me. I called to check on the car. They said they hadn't gotten to it yet but would work on it in the afternoon. At 5:30, I still had not gotten a call. They close at 6:00. I called and was told that they'd taken it for a test drive but that was all, and needed to keep it to work on the next day. I needed my car the next day so I went in to get it. There were two gentlemen behind the counter. One repeated to me what I'd been told on the phone, then went off to look for my keys. The second guy told me that most of the ticket was complete, but they needed to put my car up on the lift to finish the job. When the first guy came back, I asked him to tell me again how much work had been done on the car. He repeated that nothing had been done. I told him what guy #2 had said, and he said, "I don't know why he told you that." I took my keys and left. Two nights ago I dropped my car off at another garage for the same service. Keys in the drop box with service request - exactly as I'd done at Ben White. This garage opens at 7:00. At 8:30 the next day someone called to quote me a price. At 2:00 they called to say my car was done. Maybe Ben White was having a bad day. It's understandable that a garage may get really busy and not be able to get to job. But in that case, customer service requires that they call the customer and tell tem that. Not leave a customer hanging all day and then give them conflicting stories. Had they called me and been honest, I would have brought the car back another day and given them a second chance.
