This place is so great. They have the best selection of clothes and the staff is wonderful. I was offered champagne while I shopped and found the perfect dress for the event I was attending. It can be a little pricey, but come on girls...sometimes we just have to have that perfect cocktail dress!!!
Pros: Wonderful serivice and great clothing
Cons: None

Skip this store even though it has nice and unique (but very expensive) stuff. The service is horrible -- maybe the rudest I have ever encountered all across the board. There are plenty of other great boutiques in Austin with different but equally unique merchandise -- and without the attitude.
Pros: Nice merchandise
Cons: Atrocious, rude service!

Everything in this store is so well made. The pieces brought in each season are varied by designer and the selection is amazing. This is the place you go when you want something no one else will have. The only drawback is that the prices are quite high so you have to be choosey about what to add to your wardrobe. The upside is that the clothing is nicely made and will hold up if you take care of it. The staff is well-informed and not snobbish at all. I especially like Vanessa.
Pros: Unique
Cons: Pricey

The staff at By George was great. They were very knowledgable and recommended styles and cuts that fit me personally. I visited shortly after moving from NYC and found the selection on par with my favorite nyc boutiques. Although they were closing, they encouraged me to take my time and continued to help me browse and find my right size. They definitely made a loyal customer of me.

I was living in Austin for 3 months. Everyone told me to go to By George for great clothes, shoes and jewelry. I was not disappointed!!!!! I bought a Rozae Nicholls top and left the store. Noticed I lost my necklace and went back into the store. All the sales people looked in their store and walked up the street helping me look for my necklace. This was way beyond the call of duty. I was very impressed and my necklace was found on the street - it had just fallen off my neck. This store is not for students - it is an expensive store. If you can't afford it just don't go in.
Pros: Easy parking, great variety (if you love trendy clothes, jewelry and shoes)
Cons: It is an expensive store - but that is why they have great merchandise

Planning my boyfriend's birthday surprise the weekend before Christmas was made effortless by the caring staff of this, his favorite boutique, especially the nice girl named Kimberly! I pre-ordered a gift certificate to be wrapped and waiting when I took him on a last minute "detour" on the way to his black-tie martial arts awards ceremony. Upon arrival everyone greeted us warmly, using his name, which floored him since he hadn't been in in a while. I beamed as Kimberly presented him the envelope...he was so surprised he couldn't speak! The next day they greeted us agian with champagne and excellent service as he chose his birthday gift from among their stylish selections. Wish we could do this all the time! Thank you to the owner for choosing wonderful staff who care enough to make the magic happen...
Pros: attention to detail, friendly, enthusiatic staff

Not all that glitters is gold. I went home in tears after an afternoon of shopping in this store. If you're not 5'11' and 110 lbs - stay out of this place. The clothes are made for skinny girls not curvy women. The sales staff care more about showing off their tattoo's and giggling with their friends than helping customers. After complaining to the owner I received a 2-page letter in defense of their sales staff.
Pros: parking
Cons: exorbitant prices , rude staff, pretentious

I went searching for a pair of jeans and was so disappointed by the customer service. The woman was rude and repeatedly told me the jeans were "supposed to be like that" when I said I disliked the fit. Who cares who makes the jean? If they look bad, I'm not buying them, no matter what the self-serving sales person says. I left without the jeans that I was so set on buying that day.
Pros: cool clothes
Cons: terrible service

What wonderful customer service. Recently had to exchange a shirt that had a small hole in it. I didn't know if they would exchange or not as I had worn the shirt. It was exchanged with no questions asked. I found the clothes in their shop wonderfully trendy without being outrageous. I live in Houston but will travel to the store to shop. Their service was excellent and definitely not snobby as so many boutiques can be. As a mother shopping with 4 children in tow, they made it a pleasure.
Pros: great customer servic, helpful, stylish
Cons: little expensive

If you have the money for the clothes at By George, you should be flying to New York and LA to spend it. WAY overpriced for anyone with common sense, although the clothes are tasteful.
Pros: Good variety, beautiful clothes, unique pieces
Cons: costly, insanely overpriced, I must be poor...
