Best pizza ever
by hungryfoodgirl at Citysearch
This has got to be my favorite pizza place. It's a little pricey for my budget but well worth the money! We got the pizza with garlic, mushrooms and broccoli and it was heaven. It was cheesy and thick. We also got a sub and that was delicious as well. We brought our own beer and sat out in the picnic table. Great dinner with friends!
- Pros: great pizza, local
- Cons: pricey, not many seats
The only pizza I will eat!
by nshepherd at Citysearch
Have have only been to Chicago once, but this pizza is just as good, if not better than real chicago pizza! I love it. You can create you own combo's and order it just how you want it! The service is always great, pizzas are made on time and it is in a great location.
- Pros: food, service, location
- Cons: price
Closest to a hardy Chicago style Pizza!!
by speediscorp at Citysearch
Being from Chicago, Mangia's the closest to the deep dish from home. The crust's not as heavy as the crusts that are served on a Chicago pizza which is positive because you don't leave REALLY full from all the bread. I would recommend this pizza joint to any Chicagoian visiting the Austin area.
seriously my favorite thin crust pizza
by luvthafunk at Citysearch
Mangia's deep dish pizzas get alot of mention here but the thin crust is my favorite. The corporate places (i.e. pizza hut, domino's) just dont compare. I really love the type of thin pizzas with a really crisp crust, you can pick up a slice and it won't bend or sag. That is how Mangia's are, (unless of course you really pile on the toppings) and the whole wheat crust is excellent. I have also tried the philly's and they are good, just a little bit smaller than places that specialize in sandwiches. Burgers are good here as well. The fries are delicious, they are batter dipped in a slightly spicy batter.. And the chicken tortilla soup is worth trying. It's true the guad location doesnt have alot of seating, but if one of the picnic tables is open I'd say thats a perfect place to enjoy some great pie.
- Pros: delicious
Pizza of the Gods!!
by jcorgidog at Citysearch
(Guadalupe location): Don't go for the ambience... there is none! No tables, either (except for the picnic tables in the parking lot!) Nothing fancy here. But the pizza... wonderful! Tangy, fresh pizza sauce, gooey cheese, and several other fillings of your choice. The edge crust is light and crisp, unlike anything I've ever had before.
Fantastic Pizza

As usual, a good place is getting trashed by those who obviously don't know how to enjoy themselves and live a little. I don't know if Mangia's could be considered 'authentic', but what is really authentic when you start splitting hairs to such a degree?
What they do is simply make outstanding pizza pies. They are a substantive experience, probably best eaten with a knife and fork. Literally, these pies are about 2 inches tall, with a full 1 and 1/4 inches of sauce and ingredients. They are a little pricey, but it is well worth it.
They deliver in the surrounding area.
- Pros: Great pizza PIES
Great Pizza for Texas

I am from near Chicago and this is the best deep dish pizza I have found in Austin. The service has always been great along with the food.
- Pros: Deep Dish Pizza, Service, Good Value
- Cons: Sometimes Crowded
Yummy Pizza - We are hooked!
by sddeshotels at Citysearch
We have tried other places, but keep coming back to Mangia. The pizza is outstanding. The sauce is awesome and they are very consistent with food quality. We don't go for the service... as a matter of fact, they stay out of our way so we can stuff our faces with the best pizza in Austin. Can you say "franchise?"
Authentic? I dunno and I don't care
by astorian at Citysearch
I'm not from Chicago, and have no idea if Mangia's stuffed pizza is "authentic." And frankly, I couldn't care less! Even if it's utterly bogus, it's still better pizza than I've found at any of the competing establishments!
Now, the service is generally not great, the ambience is forgettable, and you have to wait quite a while to get your pizza. But I happen to think it's well worth the wait. And if you want to get together with a large group for pizza, you won't find a better place in Austin, in my opinion.
- Pros: great pizza
- Cons: poor service, long wait for food
Mmmmmmmmm

While I was visiting Austin, I ordered Mangia's in the hotel I was staying at so I am not sure of the Ambienence of the restraunt. I was taken back by the price as obviously they are proud of their pizza, HOWEVER, the taste was so fabulous, that the pizza is a great value. Absolutely the finest pizza I have ever had.
