i have been going to conan's since i was in highschool(like 94-97) anyhow, i am really dissappointed the way the restaurant is going to now. the staff is rude, the restaurant is always dirty, and the service just not acceptable. it's like all those teenagers working in there forgot they work in Conan's..........it made me not want to eat what came out of that kitchen.......... very dissappointed....

Conan's Stassney location - HORRIBLE SERVICE; DIRTY CONDITIONS

At 6:40 pm, my toddler and I walked in to the South Conan's. I used to work for Conan's many moons ago, and I was eager to introduce my daughter to her first deep dish. The place was filthy...floors, tables, bathroom, etc. I ignored this as I had our special treat in mind. We waited at the counter for a long while, until a young man finally acknowledged us. I asked for a menu, but he had no idea where they were located. My 2yr old found them in a dirty hanging folder container. They looked handled. We ordered, and the young man said it would be 15 minutes. Well, we waited for 40 minutes until I finally went up to the counter to ask about our pie. The scantily-clad young lady (shorts up to her bottom and a halter top) at the counter informed us that the young man had put the ticket aside in a basket. That's where the conversation stopped as she looked at me indifferently. II asked for a refund after being told that it would be another 30 minutes before a pizza could be ready. I then asked for the manager, and she said he was busy. The manager finally appeared, and had the same air of unconcern. He curtly told me something like "You've got your refund...what more do you want?" After this, I decided to leave. As I was gathering up my two year old, this manager brings out a fresh deep dish for the "buffet", without even a look our way. When I asked for the owner or higher-ups contact information, he said he would get it. Then, he had the nerve to say with a sarcastic tone "You want me to write it down?" because he was going to orally tell me !(Remember: young hungry child in tow who didn't understand why we weren't having the promised pizza)

Great pizza near UT campus!

Though there is not enough sauce on there for me, the pizza is still terrific. Though it is a slight walk north of campus, it is well worth it!

not worth it.

I had a coupon for a $13.99 pizza. I called to get a delivery, mentioned the coupon, and was told that the $13.99 deal was only good for pickup. (The coupon said nothing about this.)

So I placed an order for pick-up, arrived, and was charged $15.49. I showed the counter girl the coupon and she said the prices had gone up. I brought up the phone conversation, and showed her that the coupon had not expired. She got her supervisor, who told me effectively the same thing. They both appeared surprised when I didn't agree that this was okay. They then got the manager, who asked what the problem was. I showed him the coupon and said, "I want this." He told the cashier to honor the coupon. However, I was still charged $14.49, because of the $.50 "box charge". I paid this accidentally; didn't realize it until I was out the door.

Too bad--the place used to be good years ago.

Great Pizza

Conan's makes some good pizza. It's not expensive, it's fast, there are good selection of toppings, and it's reliable. I can't think of a bad experience in the dozen times I've ordered from them. Highly recommended.

Perfect pizza, odd ambiance

The pizza is deliscious. period. We get the deep dish wheat crust with whatever on it...its sooo good. I dont really particularly like how the place looks (the one near northcross mall) with the metallica blasting and that tacky art on the walls, but it looks exactly the same as when i was a kid so it holds a special place in my heart and i would be a wee bit sad if it changed. Definitly an Austin specialty with that kitchy charm and layed back attitude. I ordered a salad without cheese and dressing and it was a little wilted and sub-par, but they pile the cheese on and with that it's good.

• Pros: Amazing food
• Cons: if you arent from austin youll think its weird, but give it a try. the food is worth it

Awesome Pizza!!

I love Conans Pizza, my favorite place to eat. Love the tavern style booths, the fantasy art, and the awesome pizza!! I like the deep dish savage and the thin veggie supreme.

Best Pizza in the world

Best pizza, toppings, variety freshness, great service and if you want soy cheese it's not extra charge and it really melts! Love the deep dish so much I've never tried the regular crust and I don't usually like deep dish.

Wouldn't make it in Chicago!

It's just not that good, better than Mangia's, which isn't saying much, but it's just not that good. Sometimes undercooked, then it's really awful.
