I wish I had read the other reviews before I rented!

They did not tell me that the rental was based on credit. So I rented a wacher and dryer believing that I was doing so for $30.00 a month, then my bill came- for $58.00 a month. They do not disclose the rate to you prior to delivery and their customer service agents are rude as hell!
Their appliances are old and worn out. The dryer would only go for half a cycle and turn itself off. Then we'ld have to wait at least an hour before we could turn it back on.
- Pros: online
- Cons: non-disclosure
AWFUL.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I cannot even explain how much I hate this company, especially their customer service and their billing. They charge my card for charges I do not approve. When I had to move, I requested the later time slot because I would not have the keys to my new apartment at 8 AM, but they called me at 7:30 saying they'd be there at 8 (because it was convenient for them). The amount I was told for installation was wrong. The people are very rarely friendly when I call, even though I'm furious and being extremely understanding. Overall....its just awful. I'd rather wash all of my clothes by hand in a bucket and hang them to dry for 3 days than continue using them.
- Pros: they have washers and dryers to rent, and they'll deliver/hook up
- Cons: fees are ridiculous, everything is done online (and super slowly), people are not friendly, overall they seem very disorganized.
Avoid This Dishonest Company and Abominable Customer Service Deprt!

I had tried to update credit card payment information online but site would not allow me update more than my phone number so I called in, spoke to a representative, gave them my updated credit card information, which was all correctly used to charge the monthly bill for December. I then got letters stating my card was expired and began receiving text messages on my Cell phone from them telling me that my card was expired and finally that my payment was in default. So I called them today to discuss it but they swore they had no record of me calling the day I gave them the new card info they had already used!!! "You only updated your phone number online that day."
I was happy to see the list of other complaints about this business which validated my utter disbelief in the disrespectful manner in which I was spoken to by their representatives who kept placing me on hold and hung up on me after telling me that I had no understanding of what they said. Calling back to speak to a manager, the girl asked me who I was and what it was regarding. I said I only wanted to speak to a manager about that and was transferred to a girl who identified herself as "Marina ext#356, yes I am a manager." She tried to tell me that the late fee was waived but I still had to pay it! I explained that if I had to pay the fee then it had not been waived. She agreed, "but don't you see you will get it back in April? That's just how the system works." Despite spending 1.5 hours talking, the manager was always unavailable- "on the phone, busy, out for a little while" etc., I even heard, "the phones are just not working and I can't hear you but I have your number and the manager will call you back"--NOT! Total lack of integrity in a business I cannot support.
WORST company we dealt with since we moved here 2 months ago!!

To start with they never answer our email inquiry submitted on THEIR web site. Customer service NEVER answers, just the "press this & that" system. Finally ordered my washer & dryer online only to find out that the soonest delivery date is in 10 days. Took the day off work & waited for them. The driver expected a check in a DIFFERENT amount from the email that the company sent me the day before?? The dryer did not work when they hooked it up to test it. It was the ONLY set they had and the driver even said there were NONE in the warehouse!!!!!!! Tried calling the office, but the usual "press this & that" loop answered! I bet they expect me to sit by the phone and wait for them to call me and re-scedule and loose another day of work ... WRONG I'm taking my business elsewhere. Can't imagine what would happen if I need repair service!!
- Pros: On-line ordering
- Cons: ZERO customer service
Worst company, customer service, SHADY policies, DO NOT USE AZUMA!!!!!!
by volcanicashley
This company is EVIL!! They practice shady policies like when you have an online account, that gives them the right to charge your debit/credit card at any time for any amount! They did this 3 times to me in the past 2 months for amounts all over $100.00! Their claim is that I was past due. I was only late once paying my bill in the past 2 months and it was by 3 days! Now they claim they have to take the money out a month in advance! When I called them to question this- they acted as if I was still in the wrong! Rude people on the phone, horrible company policies! HORRIBLE! Even my lawyer spoke to them because I was so angry- and they told her I was lucky they didn't call the police and report the equiptment as stolen! Do not use this company. I'm dropping them immediately. If you don't want your identity or money stolen, do not use this company whatsoever because they will charge your card till there's nothing left on it. That's what they did with my card.
- Pros: There are no pros to this company! NONE
- Cons: Shady policies, high rates, horrible customer service
Lesson learned: DO NOT USE AZUMA - charges late fees even when your account has been paid. Do not give them the ability to use auto debit!

June 2007: Received letter (company letterhead) - update credit card information online. Unable to locate form online - called Azuma - long waits/disconnected twice. Representative stated unable to update credit card information online. Representative updated credit card information - account fine. June 2007: No monthly payment withdrawn. Called Azuma, original representative did not enter credit card information correctly - resulted in no paid payment and late fees assigned. Representative re-entered credit card information, removed late fees since in error of entering the wrong credit card information, account paid in full/good standing. July 2007: Called Azuma ? checked if credit card information was correct and late fees removed. Credit card information was incorrect again - wrong security code! Representative re-entered credit card information, removed late fees from June, account good standing. July 23rd, payment was automatically withdrawn correctly. August 1st: Received several text messages at 6AM informing me of late payments! Called Azuma - transferred around several times among representatives - asked to speak to supervisor. Transferred to voicemail - left message - as of today have not received any phone call. August 6th: Called Azuma after I received voicemail informing me that account is past due! Received no real reason for problems and was assured late fees will be removed and account is paid in full/good standing. August 22nd: Payment via auto debit was completed correctly ? but they withdrew over $100 for late fees! Called Azuma ? now on speed dial - representative could not locate my account using either my name, phone #, address or account # - why? Called again - representative could locate my account but could not figure out why I got charged late fees - transferred to manager's voicemail ? no call back. Informed bank of situation - Azuma is no longer able to auto debit from my banking account.
- Cons: Customer Service, Accounting, etc.
Very unhappy, worst experience ever and I do not even have my washer and dryer yet.

I was referred to Azuma by my apartment to lease a washer and dryer. I notified my apartment of the delivery day so they could remove my door and trim to make it EASIER for Azuma to deliver. On the delivery day I got a call from the driver saying he was unaware of my stairs and would need a second man to finish the installation. This was surprising since most apartments here are two-story and, apparently, they deliver here all the time. You?d think they?d already know that. I was put off and delivery was rescheduled for one full week later. Evidently, Azuma doesn?t mind putting current customers to the back of the waiting list when they have failed to do their job. A week goes by, still with no bathroom door, and the morning of the rescheduled delivery I got a call from Azuma saying they were unaware of my stairs and would need a second man to finish the installation. You?ve got to be kidding! I told them THIS was the re-delivery for that very reason. He was quick to say I shouldn't have told the leasing office, but I should have called dispatch to inform them I would need two delivery men and there?s nothing Azuma can do about it. When I called the one office number listed for Azuma to reschedule delivery, I didn?t realize I had to hold their hand to do THEIR job and make sure the correct people were informed. And a big surprise, I was put to the back of the waiting list again. I was told it would be another week before they could get back out to my apartment. When trying to leave a message for a manager, the line was picked up and disconnected. I called again and had to wait on hold for another 15 minutes. I finally got someone on the phone and was told they actually couldn?t deliver in one week but it would be another two. How is any company able to stay in business when they make so many errors and are not only unwilling to fix them, but blame them on their new customer? I?m now looking elsewhere and would NEVER refer Azuma to even my worst enemy!!
Azuma - worst customer service EVER!
by ioprincipessa
Being on a short term rental (6 months) my apartment complex suggested Azuma for washer and drier.
To start with, they were like 6 hours past the delivery time frame they had given us, and the driver was quite rude because he was probably stressed out.
second thing, we had asked for a stackable, and we got two separate units instead, which took much more space of course.
Then, I never received a bill. I tried calling but the wait was so long that I gave up and forgot about it - thought that maybe I'd just pay the 6 months in full at the end of the lease.
Well, after 2 and 1/2 months I received a letter telling me that my account was delinquent and had like $30 added in late fee. When I was finally able to talk to them on the phone they said my bills were being sent to an email address that does not belong to me, and they would not be taking the late charges off even though I was not receiving the bills.
I feel so frustrated that I didn't go and buy a uses set instead of throwing away my money with such an unprofessional company!
Btw, the washer and drier are also old and dirty. You need to run the drier at least twice to get your laundry dry, it's ridiculous.
- Pros: None!!
- Cons: Bad Customer Service, old equipment, wrong equipment, ghost charges added on
Awful products and service is worse
by jessicalouis
Multiple issues for the 3 monthes we had a washer and dryer from Azuma, beginning with them delivering a washer and dryer that did not work. It took them over a week to replace them and no credit for not being able to use them. Always long hold times, they do not provide monthly invoices and late fees are a $1.00 per day and incur a $15.00 processing fee. Customer service is unprofessional and never receive resolution and contact on isuses whether contacted via email or voice.
- Pros: none ever experience has been negative
- Cons: customer service, equipement, followup, issue resoliton
Worst experience ever!!!! STAY AWAY

I called on Dec 27th to have a washer and dryer I rented from Azuma Leasing picked up, since they won't allow renters to return the equipment themselves. I had sent them an email previous to the 27th saying that I wanted to cancel my service and get a pick-up, but, never received a response. Every time I called them I was on hold for at least an hour. Also, beware if you are expecting a delivery the driver will call you and the number they call from can't be called back a minute later. I needed to be out of my apartment by Jan 1rst and they couldn't pick up the equipment until Jan 4th so they told me I would need to arrange the return through my complex, which I did. The driver for Azuma leasing claims he went to my complex for the pick up and there was a note on the leasing complex saying they were out of the office for the rest of the day and none of the maintenance staff could help. I called today and spoke with a member of their leasing agency and he told me they were fully staffed on the 4th and there is no way they would just leave a note on the door like Azuma is claiming. Also there was no record that Azuma tried to pick up a key in their authorization binder for the 4th. Azuma then re-scheduled for the 15th of Jan and they are trying to make me pay for the time the washer and dryer has been sitting since they won't pick it up. To add insult to injury they still haven't picked up the washer and dryer which could get me in trouble with my complex and they are trying to tell me that they are doing me a favor by only charging me until the 15th. This is the first review I have ever written on city search, I have never dealt with such an incompetent business. BE CAREFUL!!!!
- Cons: impossible to get ahold of and very rude
